The *official* Election Day Game Thread!

I'm a little confused why mail-in ballots cause a delay. I get that for the most part they don't start counting them until election day, but it seems they'd be primed and ready to start counting.

Some states take ballots postmarked today, but they won't receive them for a day or two. That's what Trump is mad about. He thinks nothing should be counted that hasn't been received by today. Even though this is how it works in every election.

With Virginia for Biden, the count is now Biden 16 - Trump 13.

I don't trust Virginia yet. The numbers don't work.

Yes. Florida is probably going for Trump. It was one of the states I felt least comfortable with. Let’s see what happens in Pennsylvania, NC, GA, and AZ
Cubans are supporting Trump in 2020 more than they did in 2016. Analysts are saying that the "socialist" name calling has worked on them. Pretty sad.

Unfortunately the slam dunk that would be needed to keep Trump and his supporters from trying to win this in the courts isn't looking as likely as I would have hoped.

i heard in one source here that the word the Dems were using to describe themselves as "progressive" to the Latinos can be translated as "socialist" ??

So Trump will win Florida and looks good in Georgia. Sunbelt is doing well for him.

The midwest is interesting - could Ohio be closer than we thought? Going to be a late night.

Man, it's crazy how quickly they call some of these states. They gave VA to Biden but with 32% polling in Trump is winning with 59% of the vote. I get that they can make an educated guess - maybe the votes counted thus far are in a traditionally red area of VA but shouldn't they wait until more results come in for a state before declaring?

Agreed. I'm confused by this. These pictures show Biden with a higher percentage in each of these states but trump got the electoral votes?

Is this a couple of rogue electors going against the voters? IMG_20201103_183800.jpegIMG_20201103_183754.jpeg

It's based on the places where they've counted votes so far vs the counties that haven't been counted. If all the urban areas are in and Biden has a lead but everything left to count are the rural areas then essentially what they are saying is that Biden didn't win in the places he was favored by enough.

The NYT had 3 states picked out to watch saying that without all of them Trump was very likely to lose, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia. Before results started rolling in they believed Biden would win two of the three. Now the most likely outcome is that Trump takes all three. That doesn't mean Trump is favored to win, but those were essentially must-win states if Trump was going to have a chance. So it's looking like as of right now he still has a chance.

Someone else chime in, if PA and OH go Biden does Trump still have a chance?
