Frankly if that were happening we would all be ecstatic. But it's not. Instead he scores 16 on 5-20 shooting and 0 assists, 0 steals and 3 turnovers. In that case his 16 points was negated by how many crappy shots he took and how he plays little to no defense. Then he occasionally has a game that breaks that mold and maybe shoots 40% or 45% and suddenly he is God incarnate.

Trust me if he were shooting anywhere near 50%...EVER...he would be our darling. Instead he is our red-headed step-child.

It's funny you say that yet Exum's is everybody's darling and he's way worse than Burke everwhere but on defense. And even that is mostly exaggerated in Exum's favor.

I disagree. The most often repeated complement to Trey is that he is clutch and hits big shots. It's crazy

But career FG% is 37.6% and his career 3 pt% is 32.8%. But the worse part is that this year he is doing ever so slightly worse in both those %s. That is horrendous. If he can fix that then I'm all on board but the Burke criticism is absolutely valid. I don't want a 37% shooter taking 13 FGs a game.So yes fabtrey, a 37% career shooter gets called a chucker for taking 13 shots a game.

But that does not mean he hasn't improved. Look at that stutter he has develope din his drives that fools people. It is clear that he has been working on that little floater in the lane. Also I am very high on the way he has handled his reduced role and demotion to back up PG. That indicates he is a qaulity locker room guy and that is valuable too.

Overall I still have hope for Trey but he has major flaws.

So who would you rather have shoot? Exum, Millisap, Inglies, Gorbert, Jack, or Booker? The only person by your standards that should be shooting is Hayward and Favors. Both of whom had to improve over the years as offensive threats. Trey is a 2nd year player in a new system in a new role as a scorer off the bench not because it fits his skill-set best, but because out of the other names I mentioned he's the best equipped for that role.

People complain about a lack of assist, but teammates have to make baskets no matter how often you do or don't pass the ball. And Burke is still the leader on the team for assist so what does that say about the other players?

no matter how you slice it, calling a guy who only attempts 13shots a game a chucker is ridiculous. call him inefficient shooter. call him a retard. but a chucker? what da hell you guys watching?

I was at the game and thought Trey the ball well, especially when Jazz needed it. He sparked the Jazz in the first half when they took the lead with the second unit and then played pretty clutch in the final 5 minutes to lock up the game for the Jazz.
