The refs were cowards

But to be very honest Favors threw the ball into stands with excessive force risking injury to fans - so going by the official rules it was deserved ejection. Not so sure about Dirk, yes he slapped the ball out of Favors hands but that was after the whistle and Favors was kind of delaying game, not sure it really should have been a technical.

They called a T on Watson for slapping the ball from Dirk. Just sayin

The Thriller said:
On top of that, some 6 foot french dude almost threw down one of the sickest dunks I've seen in a long time. A frenchie showing some courage?
It really wasn't close. He came up about a foot-and-a-half short without getting blocked. It looked like ****ing Napoleon Bonaparte trying to throw it down out there, pardon my French.

The emotion in the arena tonight was amazing. Crowd consensus was why the hell did Corbin put Harris back in over Watson. Watson was fired up at the end of the game. A tough battle. I'm upset they lost, but it was a fun game to go to.

I have to wonder if at some point, if Watson keeps playing well and Harris plays bad, would Ty make Watson the starter.

I still think Harris is playing well overall. He has had some bad games and some good ones. Watson seems a bit more consistent.

True, but Mavs had possession and Dirk was about to inbound the ball. Small difference but quite important.

Obviously Watson deserved the technical, but so did Dirk. It is not up to him whether Favors was delaying the game. Slapping the ball out of Favors hands the way he did was no different than what Watson did.

Hey guys,,

I actually think that what Watson did was more deserving of a technical. It was in retaliation to Dirk, he got in his face, and it was right when Dirk was inbounding, not when the possession was changing. Dirk's would be 50/50, but

Favors wouldn't have gotten those rebounds.

We're getting too hypothetical here. My point was Favors is better than Kanter, at least right now. He's the player who should have been in the game.

This is NOT the reason we lost. I was just steamed the refs ignored the T on Dirk and then turn around and throw Favors out of the game. Dirk slapped the ball out of Favors's hands right in front of them, there's no way they didn't see it.

All three players--Watson, Favors, and Dirk--deserved to be T'd--but only two of them were. And right, by the rules Favors should have been tossed from the game. And so should have Dirk.

I want to start seeing Tinsley in the PG rotation, cut Harris' minutes, and tell Harris NOT to take a jump shot; just play defense, rebound, and shoot layups. He was a human clanking machine last night...

Just heard on TNT that if you throw the ball into the crowd, you get thrown out.

Probably implemented after Metta World Peace charged the stands and caused a Mega Arena Riot

Didn't you mean, "probably implemented after Ron Artest charged the stands and caused a Metta World Riot?"

Did the ball even go into the stands? You couldn't see it live, but when they showed the replay it didn't look like it made it past the mavs bench.

The refs usually suck, and tonight was no different. They did make some bad calls against us, but that wasn't the reason we lost. The Mavs came in off a back to back and won that game really in the 1st half. Took the wind out of our sails really. We gave it a nice run to try, and come back in the 3rd. The Mavs were in control from the start, and they finished.

Give them props, and move on to the next one.

Dallas played horribly, and wouldn't have won the game, but Jazz couldn't hit open shots. The refs gave more calls in the Mavs favor than the Jazz, if they didn't the Jazz would have won. The Jazz need to not give the refs the opportunity to decide the game. Stop forcing the refs to make judgement calls, and just play better.

You guys are focusing on one call, and not the rest of the game. Favors was playing well, but made some dumb fouls and techs. Watson over reacted. The refs don't like it when you get mad. Don't get mad, just play better. The Jazz played a good game, but need too spend less energy fouling and playing nasty and trying to get in the face of the other players and the officials, and spend more time on basic basketball skills. The steals were good, keep doing that!

Why don't we just make Earl the starter and trade Harris's butt out of Utah. In any case, Reggie Miller kept saying how much better Watson was than Harris and that Harris should take some cues from Earl about how to play PG.

Looks like Utah is shopping Harris.

AKMVP just shows he doesn't get it. Dirk slaps the ball, no T called. Earl slaps the ball, T called. Dirk wasn't "about to inbound the ball". He couldn't do that until the ref was done reporting the foul and had administered the ball to him. It was the epitome of superstar treatment. That ref should be fined for this kind of crap.
Was that the same ref who tossed Favors?

The refs weren't that bad on that one play, there were a number of other plays where the refs hurt the Jazz much more.
Just a couple examples...
Kantor was fouled on his putback, no call, that killed them.
Bell's getting in Marion's face resulted in a bad call that killed them, but there was no reason for Bell to get in Marion's face.

I love the energy, but they need to focus that energy on the game. Don't give the refs the opportunity to decide things with judgement calls. Just stop making fouls. Fouls make you lose. Get open shots and make them, that's all.

It was great that the Jazz did make a lot of steals by going after the ball, not slapping or bodying people. They are improving greatly.

Dirk just slapped the ball casually. Watson went ballistic, running over, angrily forcing the issue, slapping with too much anger and force. The emotion is good , it helps his play, but please keep it focused on the game, not overreacting to a minor thing in such a way.

I didn't think favors threw the ball that hard to warrant being thrown out, but i could be wrong, only saw it once. He needs to focus on doing things in a way that don't give the refs the chance to call him for little things he does wrong.

I loved the effort and hopefully they learn from this loss.

And that's where I thought we lost the game. I didn't see the hustle, the hard cuts, the screens, and the teamwork. For most of the night it was pretty lethargic compared to the last 3 games.
