What's new

The tank will last another year - Randy Rigby

1. How is that different? It's extremely rare for teams to put middling offensive talent in key roles when there are better options available. None of the young talent on the roster was playing well enough to come close to forcing management's hand (even if Alec and Kanter deserved a few more minutes per game last season). They've done little this season to show that they have the talent to be legitimate offensive hubs moving forward. The talent just isn't there.

This. I love how a new coach will suddenly turn Kanter, Burks, and Favors into perennial All-Stars.

News flash: If those guys were perennial All-Star's in vitro, we wouldn't be fighting for the top of the lottery like we are. We have some solid players. Heck, Hayward is more than solid. BUT, Hayward isn't good enough to overpay for. No one on this team is. If keeping Hayward means paying him 12 per, see ya.

We aren't going to be very good next year either. BUT, if we bring in a coach like Longabardi, we will be a lot better defensively. And that is a big improvement from where we are today.

Good thing next year's draft may be as good, if not better than this year's draft. Okafor trumps Embiid.

I love the draft. Every November, it's the best draft since ___(insert 2004 or 1983)____. The comes April, and "well, the draft was over-rated...BUT, wait until next year!!!!"

This kind of pisses me off. That is what this year should have been. Ugh so many wasted opportunities again and again.

Nba learned long ago, if you can't sell the hoops, sell them hope.
It's part of the NBAs commitment to drama over basketball.

This is true, and the NBA does the best job at it, considering if you aren't LA, Boston or have LeBron, you have no shot of winning a title. Ha ha.

Yet here we are.... :)

It would not surprise me if Lindsay wanted Ty gone day one, but the Millers didn't want to fire Ty due to personal reasons. So, Lindsay knows who he wants, and knows he will get it, but had to jump through hoops to get it.

Would explain why Ty was brought back, why Horny was let go, why none of Ty's assistants were fired, etc.

2. Gordo was 4th in minutes per game, 3rd in points per game and 2nd in points per 36 on the team last season. This season is his third season playing an important offensive role.

Alec is averaging 18.2 pts per game per 36 on 13.9 fga. Compare that to his previous season where his per 36 netted 14.3 pts on 12.3 fga.

I think he has definitely shown he should be considered as an "offensive hub" moving forward. 1st option? No. But a possible 2nd depending on what he does next year. Easily a legitimate 3rd.

No prophet is accepted in his own county.

Crazy how underappreciated AB is by so many Jazz fans.

It's close. Okafor is more skilled in the post, but Embiid is better suited to play in todays NBA where you often have to guard on the perimeter as a center.
