If Eric Maynor was healthy the Spurs would be toast.
...yeah, right.
If Eric Maynor was healthy the Spurs would be toast.
I do like their formula, which seems unusual if not unique in the NBA. I compliment them having the courage to do things others are not trying.
There's an interesting "picture" thread on spurstalk highlighting 18 possessions where the Spurs didn't score not because OKC had some sort of secret, super awesome defense, but rather because the Spurs simply didn't pass to the open man and didn't take advantage of often times poor defense by OKC -

OKC didn't find some secret blueprint to beating the spurs in game 3. The Spurs, for whatever reason, just had an awful offensive outing. Not only did they flub up those 18 possessions (at minimum), they also had 21 turnovers and waved the "white flag" at the beginning of the 4th quarter when OKC's lead was still around 13-15, so the final score isn't really indicative of much.
OKC never waved the white flag in game 2 and yet they were still down by 22 at one point.
Huh. Very uncharacteristic from the Spurs. How many shot attempts did Bonner have that game? Like, I understand not giving him looks if he's 0/7 or something, but I mean if Bonner isn't shooting threes, he becomes a very useless player. He's probably one of the big reasons why the Spurs perennially pick us apart in the regular season in the second and fourth quarters. I'm aware that he doesn't have a superb playoff reputation, but ignoring wide open looks like that is just going to bog down your offense. But I mean hey, they won 20 in a row. If OKC wins again on Saturday, then I'd begin to worry if I were you (are you timvp from ST?)
Nah, I'm another poster from spurstalk ("ST" = spurstalk, dmvp is one of my screen names, albeit not the on I use on ST).
Thanks for clearing that up.
I thought it was weird that you were a fan of sexually transmitted diseases. I was gonna ask you which was your favorite.
look about as good as us against the Spurs.
Al Jefferson?...and no amount of playoff asskickings will solve the root of the problem causing the gap.
Al Jefferson?
OKC will be lucky to win 1 game. They won't win 2.
They're playing the Spurs better, but they're still outclassed. And the Spurs looked very much on cruise control for this game. OKC will be lucky to win 1 game. They won't win 2.
BillyShelby wrong once again despite his smugness.
What did you Spurs fans expect? This is what always eventually happens when non-talent meets talent. Spurs had a lucky Cinderella run and now it's over. Boo Hoo. We all know what comes next for that franchise--time to tank another season and hope to catch David Stern's balls.
Can it be considered a "Cinderella Run" when they had the best record in the NBA?
7. Popavich choked at home in game five. Best. Coach. Evar.
