Here comes the third major Republican led recession of my adult life. Can we please stop electing these idiots? Their policies suck. Like seriously, when was the last time you agreed with the GOP on economic or social policy?

I relate so much to this. Like I said before, Obama and Biden were “boring.” But I like boring and competent. I just want stability. I don’t need all th chaos that so many here in America want apparently.

The absolutely hilarious part is I'm old enough to remember so many Republican-led recessions/economic disasters (82, 91, 02, 08. etc.). Why people keep falling for their crap is beyond me.

Every one of the recessions you listed has democrat fingerprints, and the last one is entirely democrat created. The 2008 "Great Recession" was a direct consequence of the subprime mortgage crisis which was created by Democrats dictating to American lenders to lower their lending standards in order to facilitate boosting home ownership rates among historically marginalized peoples. The race-obsessed democrats ordered banks to ignore math and we got the Great Recession because of it.

The 2002 recession was the bursting of the dot com bubble and wasn't really democrat or republican.

I don't remember the causes of the 1991 recession but I do remember them turning an undefeatable Bush into roadkill in about 6 months.

The 1982 recession was engineered by Paul Volcker to end 1970's stagflation. It worked. The funniest part about history's treatment of that recession is that Paul Volcker was put in place by Jimmy Carter, but because the engineered recession took place during Reagan, he gets credit for ending stagflation and the resulting 1980's economic boom. It seems you too have jumped on that train crediting Reagan.

One thing that really confuses me is how the Trump admin has continually pushed the "we're getting ripped off by other countries and it has destroyed us!!!!" thing.

They're very mad that Vietnam sells a lot of things to the US and Vietnam doesn't buy a lot of US stuff.

But that's because Vietnam is poor and we're the richest country to ever exist by a huge margin so like...

And also also... How are we the richest country in human history by a huge margin if everyone is ripping us off?

It very much feels like getting causality completely reversed out of sheer stupidity instead of anything else.

Ya when I hear about how we are so taken advantage of and ripped off and victimized by the rest of the world financially I keep wondering why we aren't all trying to immigrate to another country due to the economic strife and suffering that we are forced to live through.

Instead we are so picked on and abused by other countries financially that we have a huge illegal immigration problem from people who want to come to America mostly for better financial situations.

Does not compute. Please other countries, take advantage of us even more! If the result of you taking advantage of us is great wealth and awesome quality of life that I have had for 50 years then thank you sir, may I have some more.

This might be one of those times that trump is full of **** like every single other time.

Logic never makes sense for trumpers.

They still can’t decide whether Covid was a weak cold or a bio weapon engineered to take down Trump. They still can’t figure out whether Biden was a communist mastermind or a senile puppet. Or whether Jan 6 was an inside job by the fbi and antifa or patriotic patriots who all needed pardons.

The point is, their religion is Trumpism, Trump is their god, white supremacy and grievance is their identity, and ownin the libs is entertaining. The vast majority will never admit electing trump again was a mistake. Unfortunately, we are damned to experience a recession and potential depression because a large segment of our population has grown to enjoy reactionary politics and views government as a form of self-actualization and entertainment.

Because they hate gays and minorities, so they elect politicians who feel the same way. ALL conservatives are fascists. I'm not being hyperbolic. That's what they're talking about when they say they want to make America great again. It's social progress that made it not great in their eyes. That's what motivates them.

These people can't be reached by appealing to their morality or humanity. That's what a lot of people don't get. Conservatives WANT brown people to be sent to El Salvadoran gulags. They want protesters to be imprisoned without due process. They want social activists to be kidnapped from colleges and sent to black sites. I have thought about this a lot, and I cannot think of a meaningful ideological difference between those who call themselves conservatives, and those who are openly fascists.

Thankfully, they're a minority, making up 25% or so of the population. So even though they can't be reached, they can be beaten.

Yes, you are in fact being hyperbolic. Minorities voted for Trump in record numbers. You watch too much mainstream news dude.
