What's new

The Walking Dead

I like the uncertainty of it. You are invested because there is the very real chance that your favorite character will die. I mean look at the body count...

Lori
Shane
Dale
Otis
CDC guy and that chick
Merle
Oscar
Axel
Herschel's son and daughter
Sophia
Randall
Andreas sister
The guy that got bit and slowly turned in season 1
Duane
T-Dog

Then all the other prisoners, henchmen, bad guys...

CDC guy's name is Edwin Jenner, or Jenner.
The guy that got bit and slowly turned in season 1 is Jim. But he never turned on the air.

Don't know the black chicks name, though.

That's right Jenner. His name was on the tip of my tongue. I completely forgot Jim's name.

Point being that peopel routinely die in this show and some are main characters like Dale, Shane, Merle and Lori. No one is truly safe.

Yeah, they usually keep you waiting maybe 4-5 episodes for a main character death, but I think a lot of their choices on character death get lame.

T-Dog not watching his back when he got a chunk bit out of his shoulder, when he has been in the survival game for a year knowing to watch your back, especially in a horde.

But Carroll can go straight into a horde and start shooting walkers in the face at point blank range.

Lori's whole death scene was pretty bad. Especially when right after they deliver the baby, the horde leaves and it is now safe to leave. It's life, and this show is supposed to portray a zombie apocalypse to the realest extent so you shouldn't just be settling into a minute conversation with your mother that she's got to die. I'd say "**** that, mom I'm waiting for this horde to go through so I can run and get you some help. "

Then Maggie getting an attitude with Carl after she just gutted his mom. I'd have slapped the bitch crazy.

Merle's death was good, the whole getting shot in the chest part to make certain that he will turn, but I don't think the physics in your jaw make it possible for somebody to bite off a finger, better yet two.

This season has been pretty bad though, can't stand Glen, Maggie. Herschel, this season with his one liners makes Arnold Schwarzenegger's one liners look like Robert DeNiro's work.

Ugh, some parts of this show are laughable. It's too predictable! You know none of the dearest, loved characters will die because they're scared it will drop ratings, but anybody that proves to be a problem to the group, or affects morale is bound to be on the chopping block. Bernthal and Rooker were the best actors on the show. Andrew Lincoln is having a hard time anymore keeping a southern accent!

I look at alot of that as it would be in a war. You cannot keep an eye out in all directions at once. Crap happens and some times there is no rhyme or reason to it. Like T-Dog Pushing the door shut and getting bit on the arm. Otis having Shane turn on him. Dale having a walker jump him. Sometimes crap just happens.

Yes you can. Not easily but it is possible. Especially if your are employing a tearing tactic.

Possible finale spoiler:

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, the actor who plays Rick says that 27 "characters" are killed in the finale. Based on the books, I have an idea of who some of them are but if 27 is accurate, then most of them will be fringe characters from Woodbury. Needless to say, ****'s about to get real and a major shift in the series is about to happen.

If you are interested, scroll over this post.
That would be different then how I took the trailer for the last episode. I know they show the watch tower getting blown but I had the feeling the Rick's group wasn't in the Prison any longer and they may have left a few traps behind. I don't have any clue really, just the feeling I got from the commercials is all and maybe to combine my feeling and what you said, maybe they'll be the ones to surprise/ambush the Gov's group once they storm in and don't find anybody but I don't think so.

Governor must have horded a lot of Colgate to keep his teeth healthy. You think it's possible to chomp off the ring and pinky finger with just your front teeth? Not objecting, but damn... sounds like a good fighting tactic for the future ;)

Maybe not the front teeth by themselves. But I'd say its possible to bite off a finger or two. Evein if you can't you just bite the holy hell out of someone and they more than likely took their hands off you and stepped back.

Dude who else watched the Season 3 finale?

To see spoilers highlight...

I am glad that Milton and Andrea are gone. They annoyed me for a while now. I am very surprised that none of Ricks main group died though. Looks like Ricks group picked up 3 main group members and a bunch of minor members though. Glad they finally have Tyrese and that woman along with the woman that survived the Governor joining his group. Also if not careful they have a Shane in the making with Carl. Carl gunned that kid down and is becoming aggressively disgusted with Ricks choices.

This cannot be the last we see of the Governor, Martinez or that other guy with them. Did like that the governor shot that one dude from Tyrese group in the head though.

I liked it. I like that the gov is still on the loose. I like Andrea dead but sad that I do finally understand her character at the end and so don't hate it so much. Her monkey toes skillz were terrible though. And I doubt the ability to get through handcuffs with nothing but a pair of pliers in seconds. I'll believe in zombies before I believe in that.

Like the dark turn Carl is taking. Will he become Shane who may or may not be his biological father?

Lori visions gone for now. Rick at peace.

New group is interesting. A lot of weaklings added. I see this will bring zombies into play more, which has kind of been on the back burner this season. I expect the zombie threat to be more prevalent next season.

Like that Michonne and Daryl feel like they are part of the group now. Really like Michonne's development last few episodes.

Me too they were two of the most annoying characters in the show. Tyrese was bound to end up with Rick's group. Dude is pure human. I bet if he was dead, he wouldn't turn. The witness Governor acehole left behind will really alter things balance-wise, since everyone are and will be aware of his crap. I'm upset with Carl. I thought he would turn into a hero not a psycho that does not care about ethics.

The problem with Carl is that what he is saying does tend to make sense. It is good to have a few of them around as long as you can keep them restrained. They can keep an eye on any new people and make sure that they do not hurt or mess with anyone. Make sure they are good people.

Take the exact situation carl found himself in with that teenager kid. That is when you need to restrain him. Carl is young and is a work in progress. He'll learn when to take action.

I really didn't have a problem with him blasting that other kid away.

Taking the action Carl took has it's place in the Walking Dead world. For example that was Martinez instead of that kid. You take him out. But this kid wasn't a threat. He could even have been useful. You walk him in and place him ina cell. After they got back and that kid sees that you rescued the rest of Woodbury. Well that is one more shooter you have. One more member of a scavenging team.

carl could not have know that would have happened.

Shane's Carl's son, but the writers think we're so dumb that they give you all the hints in the world to diminish any shock to the show.

Andrea is an idiot, talking to Milton while youre trying to get Out of handcuffs? Very bright idea! The governor is the only thing keeping this show together anymore.. Ugh what a waste of a show.
