What's new

The Walking Dead

It's like the people in this universe have never seen a science fiction or horror movie ever.

nah just a simple thing there is no zombie fiction.

kinda like how in the watchmen universe there are no superhero comicbooks, they use pirate comicbooks.

it is just a simple rule just live with it.

I figured this much.

Does it pretty much just devolve into the same thing TWD is?

Uh, not really. Well, at least not yet but the writing is so ****ing piss poor. I think the excuse that is often used that the show(s) are based on a graphic novel and that's why the writing is the way it is, is a really got damn ****ty excuse. One of the mixers on the show and I were talking the other day. We both complained about the same things and laughed at a lot of the editorial decisions. It's just garbage.

On a semi-related note, that same mixer was nominated for an Emmy for his work on American Crime. We talked about that brilliant show for a good hour and how great it was for him working with John Ridley. As far as I am concerned, the guy is just one solid showrunner.

So that was a terrible 1st season for FTWD. How could they make an entire season and not have 1 like-able character?

This post is about last nights episode. So don't read it if you have not seen it.

Wow, last night's episode was super slow and boring. Then bam! Intense and I loved the way the Wolves just went after it. Proved Rick wass right about the Alexandrians. In 90% of the cases it was to eassy to beat them.

A few thoughts.

1. They gave Rick exactly what he wanted. They proved him right. Now Alexandira, and Deanna, are eating out of his hand for good.
2. Morgan may have turned a corner, I think he killed that final guy.
3. Carol is a spider. Unassuming, quiet, invisible. Then bam! Huge head count and still manages to make dinner.
4. I heard a very interesting exchange lasst night between two character where a Wolf tells Morgan "we didn't choose this". I think that was foreshadowing what's to come. I think the Wolves are pawns for something worse. I'm guessing this is the first salvo of Negan.

This show can be so dumb sometimes. It has potential, then shoots itself in the foot with such ridiculous writing choices.

I get this episode was suppose to be the contrast of Carol/Morgan's philosophies, but they go to such great lengths to put them both on the extreme ends of the spectrum.

Carol really going to kill a person they successfully tied up and captured? You don't think having a prisoner you could ask questions would help?

Morgan really going to let 5 people go when he just demonstrated he could successfully kick all their asses and was able to knockout people with his stick to take prisoners? But the show just wants a plot device to have a Wolf take a gun? Please writers, try harder.

problem is speaking from personal experience is there are truly morgan philosophy people out there, i know it sounds ridiculous but start talking to people. you would see.

people in the real world want israel to handle the palestinians who star hacking on isralis like how morgan acts.
seriously have a talk with certain people.
the palestinians are doing exactly same thing wolves are doing just going in and star hacking away on people, yet they want israel to have the Morgan aprouch.
seriously use your brain cy

They beat them all unconscious with sticks?

Morgan doesn't have a non-violent philosophy. He just doesn't want to murder people.

noo but judging by the lefts reaction to israel defending people getting HACKED up by extremist, they want israel to get sticks and start doing the morgan thing.
which is totally crap.

It's what makes the show piss poor. That being said, if they are going in order, episode #4 is probably one of the best episodes of the last few seasons in my opinion. I think you're going to like it.

Characters have arcs. Don't forget that.

You're right, Butchy. Many on the left think the idea of self-defense is a quaint concept from yesteryear.

Overall the last season of TWD was solid. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the firt couple of episodes have been with how bad The Fear of The Walking Dead was.
