What's new

There's a game on tonight.

Don't we face plenty of those teams on the back end of back-to-backs? If we can get some wins against those teams, in that scenario, then it could parlay this momentum into full-blown confidence.

Not sure, I just know our first 6 games are against teams that will probably make the playoffs.

Of our first 6 games, 5 of them are against teams on the second-half of a back-to-back. FYI.

Still got to take them though just to keep defenses honest.
If you always miss them does it keep then honest still? Burks, and the rest of the starters were doing fine when he had not even attempted a 3 point shot.

I don't think anyone worried about wades 3 point shot and he did ok. Same for westbrook and rose..... and tony parker. I don't think everyone has to take alot of threes to be effective

I agree it would be nice for him to take and make lots of threes but if he remains elite at getting to the line and is very good at getting into the paint then he will be fine.

Still a wicked stretch... followed by a 5-game road trip. If we make it out of that stretch near .500, then I'll be the ****ing koolaide guy

I thought Portland was trying in one of the games we beat them in. (Seems like I remember thier starters all getting about 30 in one game)

It's not like in the games that we won the starters pulled it out against the other team's bench in the waning minutes. Jazz have flat out dominated from the tip off in all of those wins often building big leads against the other team's starters. We also played without Burks for most of those games, so I am not allowing the "injuries" card. Jazz have played outstanding basketball, and their ceiling for playing better is still very high. Also, many of those games are away from home.

I used to like fishonburks, but, frreal, might have to hide at this point. Dead horse. Broken record.

Though derozan sucks at 3's and mid range shots.

His percentages were horrible last year (his all star year)

I was thinking consistent as league average percentages which is what DeRozan was from corner 3 and midrange I think.

Burks has been fine percentage wise (except from the left side I think?). He just needs to take more and stay consistent.

40% from mid-range and corner 3s (for DeRozan) isn't "terrible" or "always missing".

It's been a few pre-season games into the first year of no Corbin. It's still current enough to speak of him imo.
Your skin is too thin in regards to Corbin I guess.

And btw, you have been a dick to me for as long as I can remember so it's all good for you to not like me "anymore"

I think derozan shot poorly from the field and 3 point land last year.

42% from the field and 30% from 3 on 2.5 attempts per 36 minutes.

Burks: 45% and 35% on 2.3 attempts.

So Burks was alot better than derozan percentage wise on 0.2 attempts less.

I think thats ok

That has nothing to do with what I was saying. I said if Alec wants to be a 20+ scorer he needs to take and make corner 3s and midrange shots consistently (at least league average). DeRozan scored 22.7 a game and shot 40% from midrange and corner 3s. I think DeRozan is a good comp to Burks which is why I used him as an example.

I liked the minute distribution tonight.

Trey, 28
Alec, 33
Gordon, 30
Enes, 29
Derrick, 29
Probably would have been even higher minutes if it wasn't a blowout. (Plus the bench was struggling)

Also, the starters stayed out of foul trouble.

Burks needs to be able to hit the elbow 3 with confidence more so than the corner. The elbow is where he is the biggest threat off the dribble. If he could add that he would be sooooo dangerous.
