What's new

This Dude Likes Corbin

Kanter is pretty raw. I think the excitement we have for him will be justified in like 2-3 years, but people on the board are acting like he is already at his peak. He needs some development still, and has a ton of potential, but he is not the polished scorer who can shoot jump shots that everybody seems to be lauding. He will get there, but he will take some lumps in the process.

Okay, but he is certainly not Bismack Byiombo Raw. To me Byiombo =Raw is an understatement

I watched first take this morning and Steven A Smith even said Ty has done a greAt job, and went on and on about his great coaching he's done this year

I hope Corbin stays our coach for 25 more years.

Kanter is raw. I think anyway. There are a lot of things about the NBA game that are different from our back yard pick up games. Spacing, picks, defensive switching, positioning, footwork, all of these things are not understood very well to joe fan, and these are the type of things that take the longest for a player who is new to the game and athletic to learn. Now in fairness, I think the entire core four needs to learn these things minus Hayward, and that is probably why he is so good right now.

What we do see in Kanter (and Favors and Burks) is their obvious athleticism, power, size, and speed, and we say 'wow, they are going to be great', and it's true that these things can't be taught so it's true, but it's all dependent on their mental capacity to learn these other things above.

I agree, but see post #21
