This season will vindicate Ty Corbin

OK, I apologize... I must have missed that. I also apologize that I ever posted in this thread after such a post by franklin. Now at least I am sure it's a troll thread...

Just rename this thread "the war of 1812". It has a few things in common.
1. Its in the ancient past. (I'm sorry Ms. Jackson)
2. No one gives a sh** not even Sacramento
3. He's gone, and has been for a while now. (The war of 1812 is more interesting than this boring-*** topic)

I don't think it is any coincidence your brain referenced 1812. For many of us, watching a Corbin team on offense felt like watching basketball played in the 19th century.

I don't care if they lose every game and it comes to light that Snyder doesn't know the difference between the pick and roll or a danish roll, at least you can almost sit through a game this year without the feeling that you are watching two snails hump.

Frankie says otherwise.

I feel the same. I like watching the ball being passed around and players actually moving to spots. Sure, the team has a long ways to go, but I think we're moving in the right direction. Offensively, just need to start hitting shots. Jazz are shooting 6% lower on their 3's than opponents. Defensively, I at least see the players switching. Maybe the answer is personnel: better starters at PG and PF, perhaps even finding a better wing and moving Alec to the bench. Or maybe the team just needs to continue to play together and improve their adjustments as the season progresses.

Corbin never would have got the team fired up like Snyder did last night. Corbin would have been sitting on the bench picking his nose the whole game.

This is pretty much how I feel - the foundation is there. Yeah, all the pieces may not be in place and some of the pieces may not be a fit; but this offense passes "the eye test." I could care less about stats at this point - at the very least this team is entertaining again, even in most of the losses this year.

And I don't find myself shopping for socks online anymore half way through games like I did during the Corbin years.

Let's see. This time last year, we were 1-11. Now we are 5-7? Last year, we had no fire. This year, they have some swagger back? You know, you're right. It does completely vindicate Ty in my eyes. As a complete tool.

P.S. Sorry mods.

corbin is not a head coach..

he had carrol. considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the league today and he barely used the guy.

Corbin is a hack. Glad he's gone. '

1-14 vs. 5-10.
Record-wise, I'd say no appreciable difference. Have to adjust last season for going 0-8 with Tinsley/Lucas before the Jazz brought in Garrett and Burke was healthy enough to play. Now let's see if the Jazz can go 18-19 over their next 37 games. I guarantee you they won't go 6-24 after the all-star break. IMO, that's where Corbin failed: he lost the team. And, I still maintain he should have played the core5 together. Needed to develop that group as a starting unit, despite any rough patches.

We rarely had such exciting games under Corbin in 3 years!

This is already the 3rd-4th exciting game under Snyder in just 15 games!

Last season through 15 games:
88.5 PPG / 100.4 PA

This season:
96.5 PPG / 101.1 PA

Essentially the same points given up, but a definite improvement on offense. It is much more exciting under Quin. And just imagine what this team could do if they cut down on 1st half turnovers!

If this turns out to be another tank season, I wouldn't be surprised at all to lose a lot down the stretch. That's kind of the point when winning only hurts your draft pick.

Players flat out quit on Ty. They wanted him gone. Do you see anybody quitting on this guy?
Regardless of the record, I see Quin continuing to teach and work on improving the team.

I don't know about all that, but I do know that players kinda lose their fire once they know they're out of the playoff picture. But yeah, I don't believe our players will be playing inspired down the stretch of a losing season, regardless of the coach, so unless you're assuming we'll be in the playoffs, I disagree.

Also, it's kind of anti-rebuild to win a bunch of games down the stretch of a losing season. I would expect Hayward and Favors to sit out with a cold or hangnail or something, rather than watch our pick fall from nice to meh. That would suck.

Frank's homie Ty Corbin just coached the Kings over the Pelicans @NOLA because Malone got thrown out of the game. Props to Ty.
