What's new

Through Jesus, I am defined by being God's child.

I don't think you have a problem with it because he found Jesus, but because he publicly shared it, guy. You said yourself you find that annoying.

Because he shared it. *See thread you made and comments you made in regards to this.

Right, people can share their beliefs how they want. I'm glad you agree, or do you?

Not ashamed at all, guy.

Cool! Thanks, man.

Youve missed the point completely and utterly.

Explain it to me then. Give me some examples of how I'm intolerant.

All I could think about is tell all of these kids to shut the **** up. Why do you think its proper to make public something so private? I mean, Im a ****ing Atheist for myself. No one else. Just because I think I have the ****ing answer gives me no right to "mission" or "minister" to other people.

So ****ing annoying.

Intolerance: lack of toleration; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc

Pretty clear cut, eh?

Just because I find an act annoying does not mean that I dont respect a persons right to do whatever that act maybe. I find vegans annoying when they start preaching about eating meat, but I wholeheartedly respect their right to say whatever they want to say.

I respect and and tolerate everyones right to believe in whatever they want to believe in. I think Ive been pretty consistent about that.

Nice try though Mike.

It's easy to believe in god when your entire life is showered in money and women and fame.

It's just a different situation... I wouldn't say easier.
It might even be harder... because you have to give up more to be humble enough to know you need help from a higher power.
Personally I think many people turn to God when they have nowhere else to turn.
Not as many people see the need to turn to God when they have "everything they need" in their eyes.

First, you have to think about and be grateful for all of the good things God has done for people since the creation of Adam, down to the good things he has given you.

If you have to have this real intent, and have some faith in Christ.....

If you are mocking, or don't have any faith at all...

That does sound easy! First, you have to believe in Christ, then you will believe in Christ.

Let me explain it in a way so someone intentionally trying to not understand will inadvertantly understand.

First of all there are many levels of Faith.
To have Faith, you hope for things which are unseen, which are true.
To Believe in something, it implies there is some level of trust, which is beyond a basic faith or hope that something is true.

You have to understand the words fully, before you try to marginalize the meaning of them.

;)

I thought intolerant meant milk gives you gas.

1st line: OK
2nd line: Did you mean "which are true" or "to be true"?
3rd line: Please just reword this whole sentence.

I have faith and belief in humanity. I have faith that we are all good people and that most of us want whats best for our families and friends. Regardless of the war and famine that is out there, I believe that there are good people everywhere and that when met with a hard decision they will decide whats right.

First of all sorry for being a jerk in my earlier posts, it seemed like you were just messing with me.

2nd line - I meant which are true. Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, which are true. The thing hoped for must be true in order for it to be Faith, otherwise it is a hope grounded on nothing.

3rd line - Faith and Hope are more basic than a Belief. Belief is a more advanced level of Faith and Hope. So Faith and Hope if worked on and allowed to grow, can grow into Belief.

Did I explain my thoughts ok, or am I still not wording it in a good way?

I don't have a problem with that. You seem to want what is best for people.
Not that my opinion matters, but I think that is a good place to be. I also believe there is more out there for us.
When we die, there is more. There is more offered to us now while we are alive if we want it.

What are your thoughts on any life after we die?
What is the point of us being alive? Coincidence?
Do you think it's possible we existed in another form before we were born?

Just curious.

You don't need to be sorry. My first response was snarky. Also, thank you for clarifying.

So, if faith is hoping for things that are unseen, but true, by what standard are these hypothetical things true? If they are true, you don't need hope or faith.

Does anyone know if we look the same after we die? I kind of want to keep my pretty face after I die. Thanks.
