Hopefully Burke can have two mentors now with tinsley showing him how to pass and make his teammates better, and lucas on shooting.
This is pretty close to what I'm thinking. While Lucas can show 3 how to shoot the ball, i haven't seen a shred of playmaking in his game. While 3 is a passer himself, how is he going to develop that part of his game if he has nobody to compare to on the guard line? Sure, Hayward is a pretty good passer, but his playmaking isn't any more developed than 3's is right now. Come on, tell me you wouldn't like to see some of Tinsley's craftyness in 3's game? Sometimes you need to do something a bit different to get the ball around a stiff defense, and Tinsley knows how to do this.
Oh, and a moment of silence for Machado...........................................................................................
Frankly, though he was a hard worker and tried to do the right things, he has no offence at all and as he tried to get that going, his playmaking was forgotten in the wing. He's on our radar now, and if he ever figures that out maybe he gets another look. On a positive note, assuming that the team lets go of Lucas next season, Tinsley (if he is still on the team) will be less of at threat to Neto's time on the floor next season while Machado, being another young point guard, would want to actually progress his career. Not that there would be any guarantees for Machado next season anyway.
In the end this proves to me that there really isn't a tank, and that they are really dedicated to giving 3 every chance to become a complete player. Side note, I bet they were working with Tinsley all along and it took this long for him to stop asking for a multi year deal.
(is it multi? haven't heard yet.)
