because its my hometown :)

Very nice.

So I haven't traveled quite as extensively as you have*, but I'll give it a shot.

800px-Price_Utah.jpg
#5 - Price, UT. Passed through there on the way to I-70. Stopped at a Subway, got the Melt. It was pretty horrid. The streets were littered with prostitutes, each uglier and older than the last. Fascinating on all accounts.

20110210-113532.jpg

#4 - JCW - Lehi, UT. What can I say -- Archie is right. This is a frequent harlot of mine. The burgers are delicious. Tired of the burgers? Try a shake -- also delicious. Want to mix things up? Get a burger AND a shake. An excellent family destination.

2928905262_16de1e8a96.jpg

#3 - Rio Tinto - Sandy, UT. The perfect blend of semi-controlled drunken fan and fat soccer-poseur fan. Also, the team wins games -- even in the playoffs -- which is a rarity in this state. Despite the experience being centered around a sport for losers that couldn't make the football team, the ambiance can't be beat.

stans-outside-300x225.jpg

#2 - Stans - Provo, UT. Everyone I know seems to hate this place because the food is swimming in grease and sometimes what appears to be fried mystery hair. Maybe that's why I love it. Having lost most of my Provo ties, I only get all the way down there maybe once a year, but God Bless Stan, whoever he is. Or was.

#1 - My bedroom - Lehi, UT. Conveniently located, and full of memories. Also, the TV is there.

*Actually, I guess I've been through much of Europe as well as the United States, but nothing managed to crack my top 5.

This thread reminds me of people in church that go up to speak on spiritual things but then just brag for 15 min.

1- New York, USA. Very energetic and vibrant. Awesome party scene for all types of people. Amazing culture and a lot of arts and entertainment. Beautiful urban scenes. Delicious food. Just great all around.

2- Stockholm/Copenhagen (tie). Extremely beautiful. Clean and neat. Colorful and unique architecture. Lots of water everywhere. A lot of medieval and renaissance sites. And The best people on earth, by far.

3- Beirut, Lebanon. A lot of people think it's unsafe, but there is no basis for the paranoia. Some of the best vibes I've seen. Very friendly and hospitable culture. Incredible food. Beautiful scenery. Loads and loads of beautiful women.

4- Southern France (off season). Art, culture, nature, unique cuisine, a fusions of different ethnic environments, sports and recreation, and French snobs. It is heavenly.

5- Southern Alaska. If you like nature, this is it. No place is more beautiful!

You'll have to give me about 30 years to get a real list, but here's what I've got:

5. Utah Test and Training Range (when they're not strafing passenger carrying vehicles with F-16s)

oasis3.jpg

4. San Fransisco sucks ***.

3. Drunk tank

bullpencell1-323x235.jpg

2. Coors Field

coors09955.jpg

1. Energy Solutions Arena

Energy_Solutions_Arena_06.jpg

#1 Munich, Germany. So much history, so much to see, can't wait to go back.
#2 Sitka, Alaska. Impossible to describe. 40 Bald Eagles nesting by my window, killer whales swimming by 20 yards away while I eat breakfast, and 20 hours of daylight in which to fish.
#3 Seattle, WA. If my wife would let me, I'd pack up and move there in a second.

4 and 5 are a tie with every place I've been outside of SLC.

i would love to see alaska,,hope some day

I think Bordy needs to get out a little more, because clearly he has never been to Grandma's Drive-In in Heber. I don't even know if it exists any more, but taking a swig of your drink and inhaling a mouthful of flies in the process makes it much better than Stan's is, was, or will ever be.

I think Mumbai, India is the one place I've been that's worth highlighting above all else. You want to feel life? That's where you go. It's ****ing crazier than any video you'll ever watch on it could make you imagine. You'll have a new appreciation for the value of charity and the need to help others, but at the same time you'll want to become a mass murderer. It's beautiful, man.

i been to Goa,,it was so so,not one of my favorite, only thing i liked was the food

Ketchikan Alaska - spent 2 full summers there fishing, diving, kayaking, and would recommend it to anyone needing some time away from it all. Take the ferry from Washington if you have some time.
misty-fjords-national.jpg

Tanzania - do the safari thing, sleep in tents, enjoy the culture and new experiences.
tanzania-header.jpg

New Zealand - both islands. This country is so environmentally diverse, it seems to have a piece of every country's landscape in it. Might be my top destination. Easiest place to travel. Go there or just watch Lord of the Rings.
p130-dart-river-new-zealand.jpg

Indonesia - Bali. Good food, good diving, friendly people, something for everyone. Just stay away from the really touristy spots. I have some good recommendations if anyone needs them (that goes for any of these locations).
menjanganislandbali_1.jpg

Wrigley Field - sentimental about this place. I will always enjoy watching the Cubs lose there with my dad, some peanuts, a beer and a hotdog.

Outside of the typical family vacation spots like San Diego, Disneyland, etc., I've not really traveled much, but I went on my mission to Honduras:

tegucigalpa.jpg

This is a statue of Christ they have outside of Tegucigalpa (the capital). As a whole, Tegucigalpa is a dive. There are certainly some very nice spots, though. Maybe the best part is when your plane successfully lands, everybody cheers. It's a very rapid descent into the airport, and if I remember right, there's a pretty good drop off at the end of the runway. When I was there, they had a wrecked plane that didn't fare so well just pushed off the runway and sitting there. After looking some stuff up, it looks like they fixed part of the safety issues.

Copan.jpg

When I got done with my mission there, my parents came down and we spent a week touring the country. These are from the Mayan ruins at Copan. Freaking awesome. These are the only Mayan ruins I've visited, but I've been told they are some the best.

I did go fishing one summer in Soldotna, Alaska on the Upper Kenai:

I don't have a lot of pictures of this. We went on a fly-in trip to Wolverine Bay and I have a couple pictures of me fishing with a bear about 20 yards behind me. I was more than a little nervous. I'm not sure it's possible to beat fishing 20 hours a day hauling in 10 pound salmon continuously. We were there for 8 days, 7 nights. I think I slept about 10 hours total. I literally don't remember the flight home.

Nice thread.

To me, aybars, nothing beats İstanbul. Especially in cultural, history and beauty regard.

I can't tell how much I miss walking in the İstiklal.

After Istanbul, I could say Berlin, as an odd choice. Other than this two, I like relatively small(ish) cities, like Thessaloniki, Batumi, Sarajevo. Maybe I can say Saint Petersburg, as another big city or Baku(Haven't been there though).

I haven't been in the places you've mentioned yet, but they were in my list already, except Stockholm, I now include it too though, mostly because of you.

Anyway my list is just a dream as of now, because there is almost the whole world in it...
