top 5 destinations

I'm kind of surprised to see the Barcelona mentions on here because I've always heard negative feedback from those I know personally that have been. Kind of just, "You know, there is finite time and finite places that you're going to be able to travel in life, don't bother with Barcelona." Not that is necessarily bad or anything, just that there are plenty other places out there that top it. But I would still like to see it for myself.

That's seriously the most frustrating part of even thinking about traveling. I want to go everywhere, see every city, every natural creation, and it's never going to happen.

If you travel to spain and go to tipical tourist destinations like mallorca, ibiza,or canaria islands,,or any city down south,u will see how people are tired of tourists, everything is about tourism, nothing special. But Barcelona is like all in one, people are very friendly, alot of historical places to see, good night life with less drunk tourists, excelent food,so so beaches, good shoping.just go to Las Ramblas and spend intire day there

#1 Hong Kong -- Po Lin Sitting Buddah

It wasn't so much the statue that I liked, though there was a lady selling some noodle soup at the bottom of the stairs and it was delicious. It was the bus ride to get there. A large bus driving up an uncontrolled one-lane canyon road with bicyclists and other busses coming the opposite diretion to contend with. Several times the bus had to stop quickly and then back up the road to let another bus through. More than once the girls seated at the front of the bus screamed in horror thinking we were about to crash or run over a cyclist.

#2 Perth, AU -- Brass Monkey Bar and Hotel

Pretty decent bar, if I'm remembering the right one. They also had a pretty nice casino. If you do visit the casino be aware, they do not burn cards in Texas Hold'em and tipping the dealer is not allowed.

#3 Singapore -- Raffles Hotel Long Bar

This place ended a disaster of a tour I wasted a full day of liberty on. The good news was half the tour group bailed before we got there, so those of us who remained got to drink all the extra Singapore Slings they made for us. I had 4.
#4 Victoria BC --

Couldn't find a pic of the strip club we spent most our time at, so here's a much nicer looking picture.

#5 Dubai UAE -- International Seaman Club

When you mix a bunch of seamen together from all over the world you never know what sort of ******* spawn you'll end up with. The place was intended more for the oil tanker crews, but they let us Navy folks in anyway. They had the cheapest drinks in town and decent pool tables. The bartender made a perfect black and tan.

Meh. I prefer Constantinople.

(Why they changed it, I can't say. They just liked it better that waaaaaay)

Haha :), I say, don't get into the Europen and middle east history. You just can't pull out yourself from it, there are litterally millions of different sources on every damn issue.

And, I'm pretty sure you're refering this. :)

And I like this version better, a more sexy version than all the other covers.

I forgot I went to Victoria when I was younger! We were at the San Juan Islands in Washington and we took a ferry in for a day and went to Butchart Gardens:

In 2002 my entire family went to Oahu:

The USS Arizona Memorial is one of the best things I've ever seen. I would highly recommend that to ANYONE.

We also went to the Polynesian Cultural Center:

if u like St.Petersburg,u will like Stockholm better

A lifetime isn't enough to discover all the little beautiful things in İstanbul anyway, it's just like Rome or Paris.

By the way, I can't see the attachments you've posted. It says "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator", don't know why.

Can you suggest anything for me when I head to Dubia in May??

Can you suggest anything for me when I head to Dubia in May??

Well, first, Dubai is an amazing city. Very friendly and metropolitan. However, I saw it as a U.S. Navy Sailor. You are not allowed to leave the ship by yourself or be alone in the city at all. Very strict buddy-system policy. Why I'm telling you that is because I didn't really get to go to all the places I wanted or do the things I wanted to do. We usually went out in groups of around 6. If you try to get 6 sailors to agree on what to do you always seem to come up with the same option--go to a bar (or a strip club if you're not in a Muslim country). So, most of what I saw overseas was the insides of bars. In case anyone wants the mystery revealed, bars are pretty much the same wherever you go.

That said, go to the gold sook. It's probably nuts now with the price of gold, but imagine a huge open air strip mall except every single shop sells nothing but gold jewelry. Oh, and if you want a fake rolex or counterfit DVDs just catch the eye of one of the shady-looking guys lurking in the small alley-ways. I don't know if they all came out because an aircraft carrier was in port, but they constantly asked us if we wanted some bling-bling. If you go to the gold sook get the price of gold before you head out and know that you should pretty much pay for any jewelry item based on its weight. You can't buy a pack of gum in Dubai without haggling, so never ever pay the asking price. Once at the gold sook you'll be near several other sooks (for some reason one street is where they sell all the perfume, one street is shoes, one is tobacco). The spice sook is great! You can get saffron at amazing prices. I bought a full ounce of premium spanish saffron for about $50 USD. I also bought several very nice looking crystal perfume bottles that I gave to all the women I knew.

Other than shopping I was in a bar getting smashed. No one ever wanted to try local food so if I wanted some I usually had to beg to stop for a second at a street vendor selling shawarmas or something.
