What's new

top 5 guys you want gone.

1. Corbin (bad lineup combinations)
2. Bell (deteriorating skills, health, and attitude)
3. Watson (can't shoot, but would be a great assistant coach)
4. Mike Sanders (we need a better big man coach)
5. tie between Al and CJ - Al's well above average, but not worth the salary and blocks young guys getting time - - CJ would be fine off the bench for 10-15 minutes a game at his current salary, but Corbin has insisted on a more prominent role for him

Corbin's rotations were very bad last night, but let's face it no one was making shots last night. It's only his first full year, he needs to develop his craft just like Favors, or Hayward, or Kanter, and Burks. All have made mistakes throughout the year, Corbin is no different.

Get rid of 5 players and replace them with what? 5 more Blake Ahearns? Or five new NBA has beens?

Jazz probably won't have a first round pick. Utah is not a destination for NBA FA. What GM is going to send a young prospect to the Jazz, without Jazz taking back more garbage?

So sit back and hope that Kyle O'Quinn falls to the Jazz at 47 and that he can actually play.

Jefferson had me going there for a while, and he may come to his senses yet, and that last night his brain popped a blue screen event.

He had been passing out of the triple team, and I was impressed with the change he'd made, but last night the pressure got to him and he became Bad Big Al again.

Come on Al. That's never worked.

If you were paying attention properly, you would have noticed that no players were rotating to the strong side after Al was double/triple teamed; also, even if these players did rotate, you would have also noticed that neither Hayward or Harris were hitting any jumpshots from any distance. But yes, continue to blame this on Al. Don't get me wrong, Al played an awful game, but it wasn't because he wouldn't pass out of the double. It was because he couldn't establish position on his spot n the low block once. Of course, if our perimeter players were hitting shots, this would have naturally opened up the paint.

The problem isn't just that he makes a few mistakes... i would be ok with him forgetting to call a timeout while the other team is on a run or something like that.
The problem IS that he doesn't play favors enough (obvious), plays veterans too much (bell, cj, howard), doesn't play burks enough, and doesn't make adjustments. (keeps running the offense through jefferson even when it doesn't work)

Now some of those mistakes are less obvious than others but not playing favors enough is something so obvious that every jazz fan can see (you included i bet), and even national media guys recognize. Also most everyone on this board realized that he should not have put watson ahead of tinsley after his injury, and he should not have started howard after his injury.

A few little mistakes would be forgiven, but he makes Huge mistakes that are obvious to everyone watching the games.

I think most everyone mentioned in this thread could potentially be gone, but I would want to see fair value come back at least on Harris and Jefferson. They have been disappointing in the playoffs but they are still "star" (not all-star) players in this league and are valuable resources we can't just give away even if we're not happy with their performance.

I would definitely like to see CJ and Raja not on the roster if for no other reason than to clear the spots for some rookies to develop.

I still think Corbin needs more time and I doubt the FO turns their back on him yet. He has made some huge rookie errors, but there have also been some good spots. If his rotations don't improve next season though, I may join the bandwagon.

Did you see him calling for rotations? Did he hesitate and look around? Or was it just try the 12 foot wheezy over Timmy D?

I saw C. The 12 foot wheezy.

It was the same early on this year. No one rotated because Al never passed.

1- Corbin
1- Al Jefferson
1- Howard
1- Bell
1- CJ

All those guys are tied for first place in my top 5 that need to go!

1 KOC he was a genius LOL we just lost two picks and we still have Harris who couldn't give two ****s about our team
2 Harris see above
3 Bell why do we have this guy OH SEE 1
4 The Playoffs WTF we made it to get stomped
5 Jefferson if you are in so much awe of old @$z Duncan then go home and watch him from your couch

I noticed the same thing. But nobody was running any offense. Everybody all of sudden went straight to their bad habits. And Corbin did nothing about it. After like the first 10 terrible posessions he should have made a change.

But yes, we also need to blame Al. There is more to the game than scoring. And he gives us nothing else. Period. The guy doesnt try at all on defense. So yes he deserves a lot of the blame. Al has a way of screwing up everything. From his unwillingness to pass to not rotating defensively. He screws up any team chemistry we have and it discourages everyone else from going hard.

We don't get stars to sign but we can and have signed good players.

We already know CJ and Howard won't be back. And everybody not named Derek Favors will be available (though Hayward and Burks are almost in this group.)

The only real question is when either Al or Sap get dealt. Deal one of them before next season, and KOC can address the wing situation (I discount the PG situation because we can get by for another year on Harris/Earl/Tinsley). But if we do that, we're going to have a difficult time scoring in the post because Favors' post game is still a work in progress.

But that's likely the best option. And of the two, I'd probably deal Sap. We'll get better value because of his contract, Al and Favors is a better frontline than Sap and Favors, and letting Al expire after next season clears 15 million of pure cap space.

if you want changes, tip over the biggest domino. His absence changes things drastically. Plus, a big guy has to be dealt, so moving him is realistic, too.

I think Bell will be gone.
I wouldn't mind a healthy Watson around. Good locker room guy. I'm sure the 4orce like him.
Howard and CJ are basically already gone, so don't worry.

I'm really losing my patience, so pardon my french here, but that is ****ing retarded. For starters, LOW POST BIG GAME is not a contributing factor for most teams - including the good ones. There are a lot of reasons that the game has generally moved away from the strategy of ogre ball. There are a lot of ways to use big men that don't include ball-stopping and isos.

Al and Favors is a better frontline than Sap and Favors

Disagree. Sap is the better overall defender than Al, better passer, better team player. The ONLY thing Al can do is get hot occasionally with his push shot. I`d take Sap/Favors over Slow Al/Favors any day.

We`ve got alot of young, athletic talent who want to run the floor. Why have Slow Al screw this all up with him not running. Or moving very well at all in any part of the game.

AJ
Corbin
Bell
Howard
Watson

They can keep CJ as the 13th man off the bench. I find his over the top pouting hilarious.
