Trade Gobert Discussion

Not definitely and not immediately, but IF OUR STRUGGLES CONTINUE, trade him in January.

Why:
- he is in his prime
- he has a lot of trade value
- he's due a massive payday in 1.5 seasons
- he might decline quickly
- his strengths aren't crucial to win a title in today's NBA
- his weaknesses often limit us
- his frustrations will only grow
- if we overpay him or lose him for nothing, we doom ourselves

Why not:
- he is one of our best players
- he seems happy in Utah (for now)
- he is a great guy

If we are bordering anywhere near .500 come mid-January, we have to consider it. We stand to lose everything in summer 2021 if we don't; Gobert, Conley, our draft pick to Memphis, etc.

He’s a ****ing top ten player, you can’t get top ten value for because the league doesn’t value his skill set till he’s actually on the team and they see his true value. Which shows our true colors as fans even we don’t seem to know what we have in Gobert. This thread is a black eye on jazzfanz.

Those of us driving you nuts just categorically disagree with your premise. Blaspheme to mention Gobert and Hayward in the same sentence. If Rudy were to read this forum he would play you this song as well.

I like you man, your just off the reservation on this one.
Read and comprehend dude. ****. I never said he was anything. I never said definitely trade him.

I simply said if might not stay (like Hayward), we should trade him instead of losing him for nothing. I'm not advocating trading a loyal and happy Gobert.

Now have your mommy read that to you a couple times and maybe it sinks in your thick skull.

We can't get anyone for similar value, but if we could get someone with reversed offense and defensive talents, I would do it in a heart beat. This league is pure business, and they value offense waaaaaaaaay more than defense.

1. He is our best player right now. Will he when we have to re-sign him in 2021?

2. It's not about who we get as much as something rather than nothing. OKC didn't want to lose Russ, but they got something. They cashed in.

3. Donovan is untouchable. He is the face of the franchise and unlike any young player we have ever had.

Donovan is untouchable until 2021 when his contract has expired. Lol.
Whats your definition of untouchable?
You're suggesting we start a rebuild by trading Gobert for anybody we can, regardless of talent exchange all fueled on (your) fear's of losing him for nothing (also in 2021)
I have a question for you.
James? James Dolan? Is that you? Are you here on JazzFanz trying to get Rudy Gobert to your team in exchange for a floor mop and cheer leader pom pom's?
Can someone please deactivate Jim's account?

Depends what we get. If it's an offer too good to pass up, do it.

But chances are that won't happen, unless Rudy demands a trade. If he's unhappy with the team and the front office sees it and feels he won't resign then yes, they could well trade him, though my gut says no.

I can say right now we're not getting Luka for Rudy. Dallas isn't going to trade their franchise player who's one of the best players in the league and hasn't yet reached his ceiling. We could likely get a lower-tier all-star and some picks/solid players.

So what your saying is we should consider trades depending on the offer. If the offer is bad, we should say NO! And if the offer is good, like, soooo good that it's too good to refuse, then we should say, YES!
But the chances of that won't happen? But if Rudy Demands a trade, we'll need to trade him. If he is a disturbance and he doesn't like the Jazz and/or the Jazz don't like him, we should trade him? And if we do, we could get people in return for him including some picks. (Futuristic teammates that haven't happened yet?)
And your also saying that Dallas will not trade us a guy who is really really really good in exchange for a guy who is only like 1 time good?

Thank you so much for that. You didn't just describe every scenario of any trade for anything in the history of trading something in exchange for something, not enough, too much or anything, of all time, in the history of the planet that we know right now, don't know right now, had known (back then) or will know! (later on) You didn't I swear to you!

What does a cow say?
Whoa, wait! What does a chicken say?
What sound does a dog make?

One thing I won't ask is what does an idiot say because you've already explained that! I wouldn't hire you to lick my envelopes.

If we still had favors and thought he could be healthy then maybe. But now? Not unless he is demanding a trade behind scenes or really causing issues in the locker room we don't see or hear.

You can't get equal value or close for him. He is our best player as well and impacts the game a lot.

If you trade him at this point you might as well start tanking and try again.

This offense will get going at a decent level. Players are still over thinking things. Snyder will let them loose more as the season goes on plus they will be now comfortable in the system.

You wouldn't be able to afford me. Also, your avatar says everything about what a POS human being you are. Do the world a great favor and go play in traffic.

The Jazzfanz bipolar disorder-swinging from”we’re contenders” during a stretch of good games, and “trade everyone right now” during a bad stretch, continues in full force just like it does every year.
