Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

what you are ignoring imo is the obvious reason why he cannot earn usage, is they need the version of John Collins that existed pre suspension and he is gone
Good lord just stop it. The reason he doesn't get the same usage is because they added Capela who is a solid player but can only play a certain role and prior to getting Capela they had Collins playing part of that role. I don't understand why that is so hard for you to understand.

Oh no, does that mean Dok, Bolmaro and Gay are trade bait?
I wish..

Don't think Dok or Bolmaro are NBA players. At least they are on expiring contracts and can be used as filler in any deal.

Gay would probably be ok as the 10th guy on some veteran team like the Lakers. Highly doubt any competent GM would take that contract at this point without Jazz sending out some sort of compensation.

This isnt a comment to you at all but these are the dumbest articles.

Every GM ever in history of any team........or anyone selling anything, is always willing to listen to offers on all the **** they have.

"League sources say"........no, logic says. **** outta here....
Bruh... it says report on it. Obviously it was true... but now that there is a report... well its official.

I do appreciate @Jingled sharing... just share your eye roll when I see these. Even guys that are "untouchable" aren't really untouchable. Its just the price has to be enormous so they aren't really available. Like imagine Bucks call and are like Giannis for Walker and DA is like "bitch go read the report!!! anyone but Lauri or Walker!!! we put a damn report out for a reason!"

Bruh everyone knows when you on the juice your jumper is WETTTTTT!!!! I heard before John started using he was an IT guy at geek squad. A couple needles in his *** and BOOM!!! Now he an all-star. Its just science. Don't fight it.

So if that is the logic , they got a replacement for him why exactly? He is not the same player end of story. I'm done talking to the wall no matter how many of you want to pretend he wasn't a high level high motor fringe allstar that can't do it without the banned substances.

no one is saying he isn't skilled , he has lost that motor that edge that made him worth his contract and there is no way they getting off that deal without losing draft assets like Danny apparently demanded.

Again.. this is a message from us to the rest that "give us a call, just as long as its not about Lauri and Walker".

There are untouchable players. Players that are too valuable to the franchise to let go of. And its not usually even about winning as much as its about the bottom line.

But we dont have those. We just have 2 guys with a price tag of "you're not gonna wanna hear this...".

So I thought hell maybe I am wrong, and looked it up. Collins ranks dead last in 3 point shooting % of all players taking 3.0 to 4.0 attempts per game. Westbrick has better numbers.
Since his athleticim is now more limited, taking him out of being the best pNr option for them, the hope he could find his shot since he used to be a better shooter on the outside, is dead. Granted there are better defenders on their roster, not counting Kessler here, and they are taking up those old pNr usage rates, The man has failed to fill the perimeter role they only have left for him hence the 23.1% 3 point shooting . Yeah he is a great player still wtf

There is no GM in the NBA better than Danny Ainge when it comes to "you're not gonna wanna hear this..."

I'd say Lauri really is in that "untouchable" category right now. Not because he's a superstar (he isn't, there's very few of those), but because he looks like an absolutely crucial building block for a future contender, with his final role on that team TBD. You're never getting anywhere near equal value for him in a trade at this point, and even if you do move him, you'd just be looking to acquire him (or a very similar player type) again in a few years, if all goes to plan.

Hence, DA is probably looking to lock Lauri up on a sweet, long extension ASAP. The problem is that if this tank starts to look like it's gonna drag on and on, it may be a tough sell. I still don't believe Markkanen wants to spend his prime toiling away on a 20 win team.

Kessler, on the other hand... he's not available now, which makes sense, but let's not fool ourselves - he looks like a future role player in this league and Ainge will definitely trade him if a great deal presents itself. Kessler and Lauri are by no means in the same category as assets.

Been reading about that Athletic article in Hawks boards.... man they are screwed.

Oldest guy in their braintrust or in a key FO role is 37. The whole show is being ran by Nick Ressler, 27, who hasnt played basketball, coached any sport or even worked as a manager of any kind.

Nick Ressler even pulled the trigger on DJM. Travis Schlenk, the appointed GM at that time, who has since stepped down, objected to the trade due to price and cap flexibility but was overruled. Imagine working in the NBA since 2004 and being overruled on something you have authority in by a guy whose credentials are that his dad has lots of money.

What a dumpster fire.

Now its time to steal some lollipops from that peewee league management group.

Yeah. Now we just need an actual reason to bring in Murray and Collins. You know, the overdribbling non-shooter and the malcontent who's been on the block for like two years.

I don't think "But but but they're available!!!" qualifies.

I'd love to have one of their picks to root against them... that ship gonna sink super fast.

Dudes born on 3rd that really have a say in operations don't come along often.

Stop making these troll posts. You show such lack of intelligence typing stuff like that. Ive shared my reasons.

Either disagree respectfully or shut up.

Wasn't aimed at you and I wouldn't take it so seriously anyway. The fact is that these dudes are highly polarizing as players, I don't see any kumbaya moments in the horizon as far as trading for them.

Personally, I think it would be a terrible mistake. You may think that's idiotic... fine. I'm not mad.

all they need to do is trade one of Trae or Murray for some picks a true sg and then use the picks to unload Collins. Then they can go back to being a team with no drama

Much better way to put it. And for the record, I dont think your opinion is idiotic.. but the way you presented it was.

I havent really entertained the idea of DJM so I'm not into buyng unless its a best buy 50% discount thing and we can just showcase and flip him.

I do like Collins. But I'm also aware I might be wrong about him. Wouldnt be the first mistake I ever made.

Jazz are in an awful lot of rumors, probably more than any other team in the league. Beasley, Vanderbilt, Olynyk, Clarkson, even Sexton being mentioned.
Yeah we opened the shop first and listed our untouchables.. so now the rest of the NBA started touching all the others.

Slow markets and no certainty of who the other sellers will be might drive prices up.
