Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

You can also play multiple pgs though. I was one of the guys touting Donovan as a "pg" early. Like it still makes way more sense than burning all that **** on centers... none of which could shoot or projected as shooters.
But the hand pads!

You know Bev would be up Don's *** when he played ****** defense at least.
Absolutely. I don’t think I’m overstating this: If the Jazz really do end up retooling around Don, playing alongside PB could legitimately change the trajectory of Don’s career.

Beverly does not care how big of a star you are. If you’re on his team, and you give a **** effort, he’s gonna crawl all the way inside your *** and set up camp there until you get with the program.

IMO, it’s EXACTLY what Don needs at this point.

If you put it that way then the handling of starting PG position was just as damaging. Investing multiple FRPs(one of which was a lottery pick) on PG rentals that each have only produced no more than two good seasons of basketball, especially when teams have showed that you can win without one.
You are comparing a position that is worth about 15 mpg vs about 30 mpg...

Yes, you invest more in starters, that should be pretty self evident.

Haha beat me to it.

Someone said some **** like 2-3 dudes, one being Mobley AND we got picks in that scenario for Don.

Like, Jesus Christ you guys….
Just the same it’s dumb as hell to think the jazz would pick Sexton over Mitchell especially after what we just got for Gobert. It’s like people are devaluating Don and it’s so ****ing idiotic. Thanks to the Gobert package we can just keep Don.

Don should be in our plans period!! He’s that good a player. We are… should be a bad team next year with or without don. We can get a star to place next to Mitchell. That’s a fast and quick rebuild with room to sign some really good players.

Rule no. 5: Bizarre real-life trades SHOULD affect the list

The Timberwolves just paid 225 cents on the dollar for Rudy Gobert (last six playoff series: 1-5), then hilariously bragged about how they held onto Jaden McDaniels afterward. If the Celtics made a trade like that, you’d find me in the fetal position in the middle of the “Pine Barrens” forest 80 hours later. I had Gobert in the mid-40s before that bathsaltsian trade. Today? He’s gotta crack the top 30, right? How could Minnesota trade him now? And how could Brooklyn trade KD for anything less? Even KD straight-up for Jaden McDaniels wouldn’t be enough.

This was hilarious by Simmons.

I highly doubt (was going to say unequivocally nobody, but i've learned my lesson) thinks the jazz would pick sexton over mitchell straight up if the only goal is to win now. i have to think anybody who would make that trade would do it in the interest of moving toward a tank and/or getting draft picks back in return.

Stars want to come to Utah so badly....

Regardless of the direction they choose, I just hope something happens soon for the sake of my weekly screen time reports.

I used to be a respected person in my community. A husband, a father of 3 and generally, a nice guy to be around.

But since the Gobert trade, I’ve been hunkered in my basement hitting the refresh button every 30 seconds while scouring Jazzfanz and Twitter and pee’ing in a mason jar.

The issue is not PG. It's the fact that we don't have any playmakers who can create at the elbow/low block. PGs only create offense on the high block off screen/roll actions and that's pretty much it.

Jokic, Luka or Lebron at PG can create from everywhere because of their size and strength which allow them to play back to the basket but most PGs are screen-reliant which would really struggle when opponents switch everythin. Just watch Dame/CJ getting swept by NOLA and Durant-less Warriors. To build an offense for playoffs success you need wing/big man creators, not just PGs.

I think pre-season you need to move one of Mike, JC, Bev, Beasley if you are keeping Don. I do think all could have really good trade value in 1 for 1 situations during the season depending on injuries and which teams surprise (one way or another). In season you likely move 1 of that group. Like I can see each of those guys being worth a first to the right team if they are healthy and playing well... might have to take a little bad salary on top of it. I hope we can alleviate the logjam a little pre-season but hopefully we get value because I think all of those guys might have more value in season.

Everyone knows Don is leaving as soon as his contract is up, that is if he doesn't ask out before then. He has 3 years left on his contract so we pretty much have to trade him this year or next because if we wait until he only has one year left on his contract we will have no leverage in trade negotiation and the return for him will be far less...the more years left on his contract the more we can get out of him.

It's not about choosing Sexton over Mitchell, it's about getting the best return possible for a player that's going to leave anyway. Don will eventually be moved regardless of whether or not we acquire Sexton.

The general handling of the backup center position was so much more damaging while providing so little value. Investing two first round picks in backups and an MLE and BAE (or whatevs Davis signed) and then investing another first and some seconds to clear the books of those guys is sooooooooo much more damaging.

This right here is the #1 setback the Jazz created.

Danny is going to try to hit home runs on all trades. It is slow and not impulsive. ..But, I think he should go for doubles sometimes. If every team thinks you win every trade doesn't that put you at a disadvantage? He may be too good at it to be the GM long-term.

Sweet... for the package we gave up for Mike we can't get that guy... those guys are the thing everyone wants. The handling of pg position is not ideal but the net cost/benefit of what we gave up for what we got is way more than how we handled backup effing center.

I think we may be surprised at the return of a Conley trade anyways. People act like we have to attach a pick to him or something. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a player and a first.

Where in my post did I say we’d sign stars? I said good players along with hopefully a star in the next draft or two.

At least you were respected. I never made it that far. Before internet as a kid I spent my time learning the art of tea leaves trying to decipher WTF the jazz were doing. Then one day I discovered the internet, and that was the end, no one ever saw me again.
