I can't wait that long.Pre-season game Sunday
Dont worry, 20 minutes into the pre-season game when we are watching MIcah Potter and Joey Hauser we will be counting the days to the regular season.I can't wait that long.
That second team couldn’t rebound for ****. Of course, unless THT is shooting, they won’t need to. At least on the defensive end.I'm not in Hawaii, but I'm getting photos sent from the jazz scrimmage there by someone I know (not really a Jazz follower). Apparently showing one team starting out is:
Markkanen
Collins
Kessler
THT
Keyonte
Looks like the other team is:
Olynyk
Clarkson
Sexton
Ochai
Fontecchio
Based on Facebook videos keyonte is wearing white, sexton and Simone black.the video appears like they’re running some perimeter defense and passing drills. Not much shootingFrom what I can see from the photos I was sent:
Black team
Lauri
Kessler
Collins
Keyonte
THT
Hendricks
Yurtseven
Langford
Sensabaugh
White team
Olynyk
Ochai
Sexton
Clarkson
Fontecchio
Dunn
Ongenda
Samanic
Hauser
Potter
Juzang
Don't know why 9 on Black team and 11 on White, but that's what one photo's showing.
Oh, now I see from a later photo, a few switched from the original team they were on: Sensabaugh, Langford, Juzang
Likely from the earlier practice portion. But I wouldn't put too much stock in who's wearing what at any point. We'll just have to wait and see what Hardy rolls out for the real games.Based on Facebook videos keyonte is wearing white, sexton and Simone black.the video appears like they’re running some perimeter defense and passing drills. Sarah Todd wrote a piece about yesterdays open scrimmage. Few notes:
- Key and THT did in fact start the session with the starting frontcourt
- Lauri took it more casually (used the term "didnt exert himself") and left the floor early to let others run
- Juzang looked good (I dont know if this is compared to last years version of himself or the others)
- Samanic played great and looked like a legit 3 level scorer
- Ochai dunked over Kessler once "with authority"

Jazz open up practice scrimmages to fans in Hawaii to get a sneak peek at the 2023-24 team
While post-practice scrimmages are not the most competitive versions of NBA basketball, there are still things that can be gleaned from being able to see them.www.deseret.com
It's entirely possible that Samanic played well, but I think Sarah tends to have a bias toward him for some reason, so I'll probably wait a little bit to feel like he could be a valuable piece this year.Sarah Todd wrote a piece about yesterdays open scrimmage. Few notes:

I think this is entirely in your headIt's entirely possible that Samanic played well, but I think Sarah tends to have a bias toward him for some reason, so I'll probably wait a little bit to feel like he could be a valuable piece this year.
There seems to be among Sarah and some other Jazz observers/fans, the sense that Luka will give more to the Jazz than Fontecchio. I don't really see where this is coming from. Fontecchio is the best player on one of the better national teams in the world. Samanic apparently has never made his national team (a team that somewhat unexplicably isn't all that good.) Maybe there's an explanation here that I'm unaware of, but it seems to me that the odds of Fontecchio breaking into the rotation should be much higher than Samanic.
I really like Luka. Thought he looked fantastic in summer league. It's entirely possible that Samanic played well, but I think Sarah tends to have a bias toward him for some reason, so I'll probably wait a little bit to feel like he could be a valuable piece this year.
