What's new

Trey Burke twitter

You'd be upset if everyone watched you go from hero to zero because you just weren't good enough.

Why he seems so obsessed with the Jazz, however, I couldn't tell you.

Because he knows deep down he was never worth as much as The Jazz thought he was when they burned two 1's for him.

It's easier to resent Utah than look in the mirror.

And I couldn't help but think of that interview a few years back that he had with Jared Sullinger where Sullinger was talking **** about Utah.

Sullinger lol

This is another reason why I think Lindsey is always talking about "Jazz DNA." Front office knows that there is a type of player that will really thrive in Utah, both the state and the team. And there are other types of players, like Trey Burke, that are poor fits for both the organization and the location. It's not Trey's fault. It's not Lyles' fault. The Jazz must continue to dial in what types of players can cut it and which can't.

It sucks sometimes.

I think us Utahns are overly sensitive about guys wanting to be here, which leads to a ton of over analyzing on our parts. I'm as guilty as anybody. Fact of the matter is, on a yearly basis we see guys leave teams because they're not happy with their situation for any number of reasons. It happens to Miami, New York, L.A. etc.

For every Trey Burke I could list a Trevor Booker who would have gladly stayed the rest of his career. It should also be noted that Burke is just extremely salty. Had he played up to his draft position and put a stranglehold on the starting PG spot, there's a better than average chance that he's still here.

As mad as we are about how Hayward handled the situation, I really think it boils down to this being an isolated situation in which his best friend ended up coaching in the NBA. Had Stevens stayed in the college ranks, Hayward is still here. Utah is no better or worse of a place to spend your career because of what just went down. For the record, I think moving forward the combination of the Millers/Lindsay/Quin are going to keep the guys they wanna keep 9 outta ten times.

Obviously Lindsey thought Trey Burke had "Jazz DNA" and was a good fit for the team/organization. It was under his regime that we traded up to draft him.

Though I still agree we need to go after players with "Jazz DNA"

DL was not really calling the shots that year. He even came out on draft night saying that Burke was Corbin's man.

Much, much longer if the Jazz would've drafted any one of Giannis, McCollum, Schroeder, or even Olynyk. I don't usually play that game, but considering how hard the Jazz had to work to get Burke here and that Hayward may have stayed, looking at the next ~7 picks is brutal.

His body language inproved over the years, but im not sure anything would have made Hayward stay short of a title. He just never really seemed all that happy in Utah. Same went for Deron. We need to stop drafting mopey dudes.

With the benefit of hindsight it really seems like Gordon never really loved being here. You look at Rudy's twitter and it's littered with tweets about how much he loves this team, the fans, his teammates, etc. Hell, Donovan Mitchell has more pro-Utah tweets and instagram posts in 1 month than Hayward had in 7 years.

Somebody pointed it out in another thread that none of Gordon's Utah teammates have publicly wished Hayward well. I think that's pretty telling.

Shelvin Mack did. For what it's worth...

If one is being intellectually honest, one should probably include that this was in reply to a fan saying that Trey wasn't talented. He was obviously feeling attacked and was lashing out. I actually feel bad for Trey. He's at a point in his life that is hard for anyone to deal with. You aren't good enough to be what you always dreamed, and now you have to accept some lesser version of your life. It hits almost everyone (probably everyone) at some point or another.

No hard feelings from me. I just see it as immaturity on his part. Kind of like this post haha.

I seem to remember Dame saying he'd sign here. I don't remember much highlights from Burke except his mom fighting his battles for him....that was probably her on twitter.
Trey:
"Momma!!!! They talking that ish again!
Mom:
"Give me the phone boy"

Well he named Jeremy Evans in his letter. No Rudy. No Hood. Not even a Jingles shoutout. Hayward is a wierd dude. I installed Trex on his deck in Sandy before he sold the house and the whole time his wife's brother had to keep going in the house to get his approval for various things. Never even came out and checked up on the progress. He came to the window once but that was it.

This is a great post. Youre probably right. I wonder of there are similar issues with former players at other places?

Damn mate go check Rondas pulse. Dieng an Adams got PAID! Not to mention Giannis Schroeder an even MC Williams got a $2.7 year deal.

I hope Ronda cries when her baby goes to Europe.
