What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

People in this thread kept talking about it, PKM didn't deny it, and then it became a JazzFanz truism. Next best thing to a done deal. Five years from now people will be talking about how close we came to trading Lyles and filler for PG.
So true. If it's not Mission Accomplished making posts about how DL screwed up by not taking that deal then it will be someone else almost exactly like him. Also Green will be saying, "You get offered a multi-time all-star for an unproven player you do it and don't look back. Worst mistake DL ever made was passing on Lyles for George."

PKM is full of it. He isn't connected to anyone worth two ****s as far as legitimate intel on potential transactions go. Attention whore gonna attention whore

In other words, he's like Spencer Checketts, except without a radio show and with trade ideas that actually make a little sense.

I still really like Neto as a back up. He is really crafty and smart and gets people involved. He is great at the floater and putting big guys in position to score.
Yes he needs to work on his shot.
But you know what..... If we trade Trey right now we can have Hanlan, Neto, and Cotton fighting for the last 2 point guard spots.

Hanlan can play 2-guard....

He isn't restricted to just being a PG. We could easily have him and have a 3 man combo of Exum/Burke/Neto/Cotton.

I'm guessing it's the Lakers. They drafted Russell with the expectation that they would get LMA. Doesn't look like it will happen and now they want a do-over. They want Lyles, a pg (not Exum, please!), maybe Booker + draft picks as well for Russell.

Lol only on jazzfanz someone says give us 2nd best player on the draft and we give you Burke lyles and lotsa middling draft picks and thinks it sound about right? Come on even I can be smarter than this!!!!

Hanlan can for sure play the 2 but I'm not a fan of keeping that many small guards. 5 is a crazy amount. It would be a waste. There isn't enough 2 guard minutes to open up minutes. Hood and Burks will eat up 2 guard minutes. Along with Dante a little.
We have to trade Trey if Neto is coming.

Hanlan isnt going to get minutes regardless of if he makes the team as the 3rd string PG or the 5th/6th wing player, unless an injury happens.

Well, here's what we know:

- Lyles is very obviously involved in trade talks right now
- Dennis has mentioned recently that harming team chemistry is something they'll consider if the assets they're receiving are significant
- Peeks suggested that Indiana is a trade-partner, and implied Paul George.

I'm not sure we're gonna get him, but I'd celebrate HARD if we did. Quite frankly, I'm not really too down with George Hill. Again, he's a player I'd consider for the 2016 offseason, but let's see what Dante can do first. We are securing home court this year if we get Paul. Exum/Hayward/Paul/Favors/Gobert is simply a monster lineup, and I'm guessing that Burks, Burke, Lyles, and picks will be leaving. Probably Hood too, which would suck. I'd love a Hayward/George/Hood wing rotation. But I'll palate Burks rounding the wings too, if Hood leaves.

Keep Hood and this would be ideal. Lose Hood and we are no better off because our bench would be awful.

Here's a perfect example of stretching the already-stretched evidence past a breaking point.

You don't get Paul George without surrendering one of Hayward, Favors, Exum, or Gobert. End of ridiculous conversation.

You can sign some players. They won't be as good as Hood, but it's worth it to have George, don't be a clown. We need someone who can guard KD/Harden.

We 100% need to keep either Hood or Burks. I personally would prefer Hood-- Cotton, Neto, and Hanlan can handle ball-control stuff.

Glad to know there are conditions where Dal would move Hayward back to the 2. Blasphemy!

We could lose both.

You can get backups. It doesn't matter when you have Hayward/George taking 35 mpg each.

ESPN sources say that the Lakers and Pacers are actively discussing a trade where L.A. would take Roy Hibbert into salary-cap space

Not sure if this would have any impact on these talks
