"Here come the dancing girls"
I think Greece, Russia and Slovenia are no weaker then any team from other group but Spain. Those three are legit contenders and any of them can win whole thing. Macedonia so far is very surprising, they beat Croatia and Greece so they must know how to play basketball. Finland and Georgia is out for sure, and they are not at the same level as the remaining teams.
not 10 ppg but he may score close if he gets playing time. He does best what he does, his job is defending, shoot altering, blocking and being a nightmare to the opponent team. If he was in miami, miami wouldnt be so unbeatable
I agree about steals, some international players, not at Pau gasol, nowitzki or kanter level like the most popular ones but some of them are slightly less famous may be grabbed every year in second round. Rarely comes good american players in second round but it is a higher possiblity for international second round players to end up being better than expected. Thats why we should try our chance with internationals in second round picks. (Though i dont think Ante Tomic is a good player for nba level)
Yes they are weaker. Russia plays as a team but their only star is AK. Slovenia as well isnt as good as any of the teams in seed A. Maybe germany. I am not even talking about Greece because they suck, they just have a name thats all, i guess you never saw them playing since they beat usa in olympics.
.
Why do you hate Greece so much? Last time I saw them play vs Turkey in friendly Greece won easily and it was not even close. In my book Greece is better coached and plays better as a team then Turkey who has few big names but plays kind of ugly one on one style basketball. Slovenia may be not at the level of Spain but they certainly not worse then Serbia ( who have no big names either ), Lithuania or Germany. Euro basket is about team work, coaching and not always about stars.

After reading posts here, I started watching the games. Some observations: Turkey's coach or coaches are absolutely HORRIBLE. Kanter is already better than Omer Asik. Asik is tall and that's about it. Turkey is all about one-on-one play by the guards, led by Hedo who apparently has a swelled head.
Asik was pretty big down the stretch vs. Spain.
asik's clean block on ibaka(which was called foul)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M95LLi_y8vw
Agree, the initial touch was clean, but then hit Ibaka's head and down across his neck. Foul was probably called due to the follow through that caused the contact.Yeah the block part is clean for sure but I think he touched his head with his blocking hand after the block, maybe thats what made ref call a foul. In NBA I doubt it would be called

Turkey definitely looked like they have more pure talent than Lithuania, but they choose to play so stupidly. That seems to be the back-breaker for Turkey, and it will almost certainly catch up with them again at some point before the tournament is over. As such, I'd say there are a number of teams with a better chance than Turkey of winning the whole thing (Spain, France, Lithuania, Serbia, maybe Russia and Slovenia).but when you look at the rosters, Turkey is on the same level as France, best squads after Spain.
Why don't you do what he's already done and find a way to get over it.And I'm the tough guy.
Chick Hearn?I second the notion. I like his quip, "it's velvet!". All good commentators should have their own little sayings/style that identify them; that's what makes them recognizable above the rest. For example, it's not difficult to know who said this, "with a gentle push and a mild ark the cowhide globe hits home" or "hippity-hoppin' down the lane" and the patented "you gotta love it..."
