Interesting chatter from around the league reported by Locke as well, although I always take his stuff with a grain of salt:

*If the Jazz traded an unprotected first, they could probably get in the #14 range.
*Protected future pick probably gets them to #18-#20.
*Harris not considered a great asset in a trade for a pick.
*Millsap maybe gets them into the #8-#12 range, but even that he felt like might be a stretch depending on fit with a given team.
*Jefferson's salary probably too high to be traded on draft day.

Is he right? Beats me, but it's an interesting valuation of the Jazz' assets.

Miller doesn't fit the Wolves. He isn't athletic, he isn't a great shooter, his best work is in the post. Budinger gives them shooting and running the court. Parsons was a great rookie and was more of a true SF, which is what the Rockets lacked. Budinger is more of a SG, which is what the Wolves need.

I don't think that the Lack of athleticism from the three position is too big of a worry from the Wolves. I understand your point about shooting, but specialty shooters like Budinger can be had for MUCH less than an 18th pick. Quincy has the tools to be an all-star. It was a stupid trade, through and through.

The thing that I like about all of this is that Houston, if they lose out on the Dwight Sweepstakes, will have a load of picks that they will not know what to do with. Suddenly KOC can swoop in and offer Jefferson and other assets and try and get something from the Rockets. KOC might just be playing this perfectly. Just like he did with the Melo situation.

That is the ideal scenario for the Jazz.

After finishing 7-59 and with the worst winning percentage (.106) in NBA history, the Bobcats have a variety of holes to fill this offseason.

Dunlap recognizes that.

That's one of the reasons he said the Bobcats are taking a "hybrid thinking" approach to Thursday night's draft, which means evaluating the talent available at No. 2 while simultaneously looking into the feasibility of moving down and picking up an additional first-round draft pick.

He said the option of trading down "is on the board."

"I think anybody in our situation would have that on the board," Dunlap said. "(Our) people are very smart up top. So options and thinking of your variables is a very smart thing to do."

Dunlap said the decision on whether to remain at No. 2 or move down will be up to his bosses -- general manager Rich Cho and director of basketball operations Rod Higgins. As of right now they're not talking about the draft, though both are expected to address the media at a pre-draft press conference Wednesday.

Cavs could make them a nice offer, so could Hou if they can turn two of their picks and a player into the #5 or #7.

His game is perimeter and transition oriented. He doesn't play physically or anything of that nature. He is a SG with size.

I'm with Cy. This was not a bad move for Minny at all. Adelman's smart. With Rubio & Love playing PnR, they need someone to shoot the corner 3's. Wesley Johnson interviewed for that job, and I think we all know how that went. Budinger shoot's like 47% from corner 3's. You know what you're getting from him. Sure there's a 5% chance that Quincy Miller becomes an all-star, but Minny's not really in the position where they need to gamble for homeruns.
