Why in theHere are two trades that we could make at about the same time (mid to late December) that would help us for this year and the future.
#1 Rubio to Phoenix for Greg Monroe
#2 Favors and our 2018 2nd to Cavs for Frye, Osman, Calderon and the Cavs 2018 1st.
Phoenix has some terrible contracts that expire after the 2018/19 season. Rubio is young enough and worth the gamble to see if he fits next to that young corp. We do this to dump him since Monroe is an expiring.
Cavs need a center upgrade and this comes at low cost. They move back about 15-20 spots in the draft and give up Osman who they haven't been able to get on the floor yet.
Result:
PG Mitchell, Neto
SG Hood, Burks
SF Ingles, Thabo, Osman
PF Jerekbo, JoeJ, Royce
C Gobert, Udoh, Bradley
IR Exum
We decide to keep the best of Monroe, Calderon and Frye. All are expiring. We waive the other 2.
Overall: Add a late first round pick for Favors, clear up cap from dumping Rubio to comfortably re-sign Hood and Exum in the summer, and maybe Osman develops into something....

His trade would happen way before Cleveland gives a top ten pick for Favors. Your so dumbWhy would the Nets do that?
My trades might not happen, but at least they are logical. We arent getting a first rounder AND a fan favorite rotation player from a 3 team deal. Brooklyn would probably want Booker over both those guys much less the 1st.

The Jazz didnt trade for Rubio just to salary dump him after 1/4th of the season.
Great trade for both teams. Booker will be helpful in Philly. Nets get a couple young players that could be busts but they will get playing time and maybe develop a bit.
We didn't have Mitchell when we traded for Rubio.
Ok? I still dont think the jazz are the type of organization who just gives up on players.
I'd be real careful calling someone dumb when you apparently have a reading comprehension problem. He never said Cavs trade the Nets pick, he said the Cavs trade their own pick. Why in the
Delusional If You think Cavs are trading the Nets First Round pick for Favors. Go back to playing video games where you Can play GM. You MAke trade Ideas that 1. Are Beyond stupid ANd 2 . no one in the FO ISs going to listen to you so its pointless. Geek is what you are. I Now nickname you 2K

Is anyone down for Harrison Barnes?? Bleacher report had an article a while back where the hypothetical trade suggested would be Burks+Faves+ top ten protected first round pick for Harrison Barnes and I’m feeling down for it. How do you guys think he would fit play wise/culture wise/ contract, etc. I know this was brought up in another thread but it wasn’t talked about much.

"right deal" is different than a salary dump.I don't neither. But if the right deal can be had we'd be stupid not to entertain it.
People have tossed around the idea of Rubio. Would be curious about a Rubio/Crowder swap but they’d probably need a front court player if they toss Crowder and would likely want Favors instead. We should liberate Crowder from Cleveland.
