Ty Lawson, Anyone?

Dude would be an instant cancer

All the more reason to get him in here.

Get to work on it, Dennis.

But we don't really have a 1-on-5 James Harden on our team though.. I think Hayward, Favors and especially Gobert could really benefit from elite level passing which Lawson does possess.

He's a drive-and-kick guy. I don't think he's an elite passer. Not even close, really.

He's kind of a homeless man's James Harden with a fairly serious attitude and alcoholism problem. He generated a ton of offense but just like Harden will dominate the ball.

I wouldn't trade Burke for him... and I'm not a Burke homer. I'll take a pass here.

We ought to just wait for the pels to be ready to trade Jrue Holiday for nothing. Isn't he an expiring contract as well? I cant remember, but I think at most he has just one more year, and is a big player.

I have actually been really happy with Burke as the backup. He has looked so much better in that role.

I think this question was asked before he was traded to the Rockets, which might've been before Dante was injured. Not sure. I know this guy has had off-court issues, but he is the kind of PG that could push the Jazz in the upper echelon of the NBA.

Awesome... Let's trade for Lawson so we can have him pull a Kanter demanding a trade out of Utah then enrage fans talking about how bad a place Utah is, but instead of trashing SLC after a trade. He's doing it while playing for Utah. Great idea.

It's well documented how he thinks of Utah. Do we really want that headache. With this young up and coming team built on defense? With great personalities and attitudes guys who like it here and want to be here l. Do we really want to mess all that up??

I'm more concerned with the 4 DUIs, and the attitude that he hasn't really acknowledged it is an issue. Ironically a low key place like Utah is exactly what he needs.

He's trashed Utah in the media more then once. He's not what we need. Get over it

I realize the reddit trashing thing and I don't want him. All I said is I'd be more concerned that his life is a dumpster fire than that he said Utah is boring. I wouldn't bring him in for free... I certainly wouldn't trade anything for him.

I'm surprised no one has latched on to the fact that his salary next year is NOT guaranteed. We could take a one-year rental and see how it goes. When he was with Denver before Karl got sick, he was an elite PG. Yeah, I would certainly trade Burke for him -- the skill level of either Neto or Burke is nowhere near and never will be what Lawson was. Imagine if the change of atmosphere returned him to his former self? I'd say he's worth a try. If he doesn't work out, we just sit him on the bench and let his contract expire next year. If not, we have a mentor for Dante.

I think we ought to consider it and DL should talk to his agent.

But he's kind of right. You probably are right too, but I think these fall short of evidence for that he is.

He's totally right. If I were an nba'er slc would not make my shortlist. But these guys also don't always have a say in where they go, and how they handle things that aren't their ideal situation is pretty important. I really don't think his track record speaks well to handling the move to his least favorite nba market in the right way.

Wouldn't mind Lin, TBH.

Not really all that interested in Lawson, but would go hard for Mike Conley if he comes available.

Some solid PG will be available at the trade deadline like last year.

Should have just traded Kanter for Jackson last year and called it good. Our disgruntled player for theirs and then both teams could match their contract offers in the offseason.

Lawson still has the NBA record of most consecutive 3s made in a game with 10. You would think he is an elite 3P shooter but he no longer is, in fact he has gotten worse every year. Just check his yearly stats. Now dude is unhealthy as hell and has serious mental problems and is getting paid more than Favors. How would that work with our chemistry?

We're playing games 4vs5 and are kind of desperate to get a real PG but he is not the answer.
I think the PG Synder wants most is Mike Conley of Memphis who will be a free-agent this offseason. Not sure about his injury issues but New Orleans Pelicans' Jrue Holiday is also pretty underrated and underutilized and may blossom into an above-average PG in the league. Both MEM and NOP don't look good so far, one of them or both may make major moves or even blow it up.

Memphis is currently the 4th seed. What do you think they were expecting? New Orleans is below projections, but not Memphis.
