unconvincing win.
in the big picture yes, but it was nice to win.
unconvincing win.
3 years ago I would scream yes. However, it doesn't work now for the following reasons:So is a team with Favors at the 5 and no Gobert a workable option? thought the defense was pretty darn good and the offense was far more fluid. With Gobert at the 5 the defense is top 5, but the offense is awful. It would help if either Rudy or Favs would accept coming off the bench.
Really nice to see Favors have a nice game. Amazing how well he plays when allowed to play to his strengths.
3 years ago I would scream yes. However, it doesn't work now for the following reasons:
#1 - contract. If Favors became our franchise center, we all know what we are risking this summer - either lose him in free agency or overpay to keep him.
#2 - injury history. By transitioning to Favors, we would have to be hopeful his many ailments are behind him. As a player with 8 years playing experience with an injury history, all indications would be that the injuries will return if not get worse.
#3 - why now? We have had the guy for something like 7 years. If we havent gone to this before, why would we now?
We need to rest Gobert for most of the next month, let Favors build up some trade value, and trade him while we can. I wish we would have moved him full time to center years ago, but our chance has passed.

Favors as a 5 is a real thing.
He is so much more versatile than Gobert on offense and tonight showed that Gobert grabs a few rebounds that Favors could gobble if he was on the floor by himself.
Would love to see what Favors looked like with a lot of games at center - playing with starters.
?So is a team with Favors at the 5 and no Gobert a workable option? thought the defense was pretty darn good
The enigma that is Rubio - 8 assists and 1 turnover.
Thabo is like Ingles last season - makes a big impact without posting big numbers.
And Favors... hopefully this game showed everyone here he can play well again.
I love Favors as a person, but he’s had a number of injuries that left him a shell of his former self. I’ve hoped for a return to the Wasatch Front days that were so tantalizing after the Kanter trade.?
-The Jazz gave up 106 points to the Brooklyn Nets.
-Favors is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Even if the Jazz wanted to keep him, it's not really up to them. He's also signaled that he's the **** out of this place several times either through his agent or his MYSTERIOUS twitter posts.

Favors is a solid starting 5 in the league and it looked like he had better chemistry with Rubio than Gobert has had. However, the keyword was 'Solid', Gobert is elite. If Gobert isn't jiving with Rubio, you don't change the team to fit who works best with Rubio. You change the team to what fits with Gobert. Otherwise your just building an average/above average team when you should be focusing on what needs to be done to build an elite team.

Exum looked like he was working with Gobert pretty well. Like someone else mentioned Ingles has got good report with him. I think that Mitchell has shown a few impressive assists, but I get what your saying.Whos had the best chemisty with Gobert to date??
I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but you guys need to stop thinking about "building around Gobert" on offense. You don't build around a C with no jumpshot, no post moves, not the best hands and not even a reliable FT stroke so he can force his way to the line. Rudy right now is the main piece for the Jazz because he's a difference maker on D, but Utah won't be a top team as long as they're trying to accommodate the offense to him. He needs to be the stalwart that he is on defense, and just a guy who gets a dozen points a game off of putbacks and a few easy buckets inside.
