What's new

Utah Jazz @ L.A. Lakers - Dec 9 - 7:30 PM MST - Root Sports

Marvin should have been in there at the end instead of Foye. There is almost absolutely no benefit of him closing games. You gotta have Marvins length in there.

Agreed. I can see why we'd play Foye when we're down, but when we have a nice lead, Marvin should be in there. He doesn't tend to play during the end of games; though we could use his D.

Howard: He's not right. I don't know if he's mentally checked out, but he was nowhere to be found on help defense. In fact, I seriously think Jefferson was hanging outside just to give Paul space because he rarely got over to help. And offensively he's just going through the motions. Even when he got touches he'd frequently give up quickly and pass the ball out.

This. I don't know why Foye should close if we don't need a 3 pointer.

I kind of wondered this, but the Lakers had Meeks in the game. It makes sense quickwise, but Meeks proved several times tonight he absolutely cannot drive. In the 3rd quarter, though, Foye should have been a quick hook for Hayward. He was getting switched on Kobe and he has no business guarding Kobe.

One thing surprised me very much: Kanter is basically the same size as Howard. Howard's just a tiny bit taller, and just a little bigger in the upper body, but Kanter has to be basically as strong. I've never liked Kanter as much tonight after I really saw just how big he is. He's starting to really come on as a player, too.

If we have a lead under 3 minutes, then Foye and Jefferson need to sit. Favors, Carroll/Marvin, and Hayward should be in instead.

This will never happen.

Marvin Williams plays good defense on Kobe. He's a better defender than Foye. I think Corbin just wanted Foye to be able to hit a big shot and space the floor on offense.

I would go with carroll

Great game from him. Favors injury has a silver lining after all. Kanter making a splash, Sap coming up big, Mo Williams looking like a PG. Now the Raptors do suck, and laid down. The Lakers are a hot mess. But these are still good things.

And since he is only 20 there is a chance he could get a little bigger right? (i have no idea if people continue growing after 20 yrs old)

Is it possible that millsap is playing so well right now because he isn't worried about favors taking minutes from him?

If so, then should we expect another slump when favors returns?

This was a fun game to watch, except for Foye guarding Kobe, which is the dumbest ****ing thing I've ever seen considering we have 3 legitimate defenders to guard Kobe (Marvin, Gordon, Demarre)

Millsap slumps seem to coincide with unreported injuries that he is playing through, but who knows.

We have too many bigs, I'll give you that.
