If last night is any indication, Lyles' feel for the game and skill level are terrific. Needs to add some strength.

Well we will get to see more since Booker is probably going to be suspended for a couple of games.
 
I was actually really thrilled by the Snyder decision to foul immediately when we were up three with less than ten seconds left. That ultimately ended up with the Lakers hurling an air-ball in the corner because they knew they had to rush the shot to avoid getting fouled and sent to the line for two.

Obviously there are risks inherent in the "foul fast" strategy but over a long period I suspect it will decrease the chances of game-tying hail mary threes as people learn that this is Snyder's preferred strategy.

Yeah, it's good for winning, but it's so boring. I wish there was some kind of rule that made intentionally fouling in that situation illegal(if game is within 3 points in final minute) to speed the game up and prevent FT shooting contest.

Little things like this are not something I ever remember Corbin doing.

Loved the blocked shot and the pass to lyles on the break.
He barely missed two and ones that he normally makes and only made 57% of his free throws. Really should have scored over 30 points
 
Nobody puts pressure on the D like Burks does. And he's good enough in the corners to have to guard. That's a damn nice piece.
 
I just loved that the team seemed to know where they were at in late game short clock situations. One of the things that baffled me the most under Corbin was that a team of professional basketball players seemed to have no clue what to do in short clock situations. Like, high school kids understand the short clock, but Corbin's Jazz did not. Made me think it wasn't that he didn't have a plan but that he had a convoluted plan that no one understood.

The situation were "intentionally foul when ahead" is actually a good strategy is essentially a corner case. It requires you to be up by a very specific number of points in a very specific short-clock situation. This is an instance where adding additional layers of rules probably creates more confusion than its worth. I'm also not 100% against forcing players to be able to hit free throws as a real skill. I think this was a substantial percentage of Chauncey Billups' late game value during his career.

Snyder's on the bleeding edge on this one. I suspect it will be a standard strategy in 10 years. Corbin will adopt in at whatever Jr. College he's coaching at in 2040.
