Tell me about what Burks has done in his NBA career.

Not a whole lot as well, but seemed like he was a lot more effective for us last year than Enes ever was. I can't remember the game last year, but I remember the starters were playing terrible and no one was being aggressive. I think we had like 4 FT attempts going into the 4th quarter. Enter Burks and we made a nice run and I think he himself got to the line 8+ times to finish the game. Kanter just never had anything like that his first year. Not a knock on him, but I just think Burks proved more last year and seems like a more safe bet for success.

Amen.

wtf people? Kanter is locked up on a rookie deal, it's his 2nd year in the NBA, and was the #3 overall pick. He's what? 19, 20? He's definetely a more valuable asset than Millsap, who I'm 99.9% sure will be overpaid next year.

Yep.

No small market team that pays Millsap 12 million a year under the new CBA will ever be a contender. But a small market team that takes a chance on developing a #3 overall pick, who has much more potential, just might.

Millsap has tremendous value right now as not only a player, but as an expiring contract. Production-wise, he's a top-10 PF. If Utah put him on the market, we'd get a ton of decent offers. As of right now, Kanter is a one-trick pony on offense and a solid rebounder on defense. MAYBE...HOPEFULLY...he develops. Would I trade Enes? Probably not (unless it netted a starting center in return). But Millsap and Favors would be my starters right now, not Kanter.

Bet you a hundred million billion dollars the Jazz could get more in return in a trade for Kanter than Millsap.

whether that's true or not, this isn't the only way to imagine a player as an "asset." Paul does more for the team in every way. Most of those ways don't show up in some numerical figure.

Rebounding and defense? No.

Yeah, a player's potential is also something to keep in mind. As is whether or not they're worth the payday that's coming their way.

I voted for Paul. I think he is going to be overpaid in a year, and I'm not positive that he has the trade value that everyone thinks he does. (GM's know they are going to have to overpay to keep him).

Oh.

I read in DesNews he wasn't ready. Kind of shines a new light on things.

Tell them to suck it!

Other than Favors I get any vote for the last four guys.

I went with Kanter because I feel he has the biggest bust potential out of the other five, and because I think Sap is very useful as a 6th man on a championship team who can easily start if the time comes for it. Plus he's one of my favorite Jazz players of all time so there's that.

Also, some day soon, it's going to click for Kanter and he's going to start getting buckets in a rapid and largely unstoppable manner.
