Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

What's in it for the Cavs? Iggy is a terrible contract, and Klay is a one-year rental. If they get every second first round pick the Warriors have the next decade or so, perhaps.

If you are the Cavs would you rather lose Lebron or get something back for him? I could see Gilbert being petty enough just to lose him rather than trade him to the Warriors, but as a franchise the latter is much smarter.

Somebody in LeBron's vast group probably said "he hasnt made a decision and will consider all options." The Warriors are an option and makes for good click bait.

Well if this turns out to not be a silly rumor, NBA fans all over the world need to unite and threaten to stop watching the NBA and not go to games to keep this from happening. This would ruin the NBA for me. If I'm The commish, I'm not letting this happen much like the NBA stopped CP3 from being traded to the lakers

I'd still watch. I'd just hope Cleveland would be able to get Green and Klay. I think a Durant/Lebron/Curry trio would be incredibly interesting. But even if they just had to trade Klay, I'd still be interested.

Also, if the Warriors traded Klay, that increases Utah's chances of possibly being able to sign Klay in 2019.

Great, the jazz would be at fault for ruining the NBA :(
I mean, you could argue the Jazz giving the Warriors Iggy by facilitating the Denver trade was the final piece the Warriors needed to turn into a dynasty. Maybe if the Jazz dont do that trade then the Warriors never win a championship and KD never joins them.

If the Warriors actually try to trade for LeBron the NBA needs to veto it. League parity is already suffering big time.

Love is destined to be a center sooner rather than later. He needs to be paired with a very strong, athletic, defensive power forward or at least PF/C. He will be a nightmare on PNR switches. I just don't buy Love as the guy for us. I like his game, but I don't think he fits next to Gobert for this 4 year window.

And why is that smart guy? Enlighten us.

I think a front court of Gobert and Love would get eaten up by a playoff opponent. I'm not gonna back down kid. That's my opinion. A 29 year old injury prone slow PF is not worth what we would have to sacrifice to get him.

What part of Loves game makes you think he's a center? Because hes slow and tall? If Kevin Love is your starting Center you are giving up 120pts/gm.

He was a #1 option who had his role reduced to that of a role player. Hes had terrible coaching and one of his biggest strengths taken away from him. Its just hard to know what he would look like on the Jazz...

We wanted Love in the offseason and my guess is we could get him for 1/2 that now.

I think he's a center because he fits a team better in a Sam Perkins type role than trying to be some all purpose PF. On offense, he is a PF when Tristan is in the game. On defense, he is a center. This is like the whole Tim Duncan argument. Both offensively and defensively, he played like a center. He almost always guarded the other team's slowest and biggest guy.

If you put Love next to a guy like Draymond Green, Porzingis, Iggy, Millsap, Harrison Barnes, and others, he would be an incredible center. He's better as a center in today's NBA, especially the playoffs, than he is at PF. Look at him next to a noshoot "center" in TT, and you'll see his numbers were nonexistent when the Cavs won the finals 2 years ago. He struggled again last year.

As for the #1 option, yes, he was in Minnesota. And the team sucked really badly while he put up great stats. He is better as a 3rd option if you want your team to win. Kyrie (when he was with the Cavs) and now that he's gone has proven that. Love doesn't lead to wins.

I hope he states it just like that, maybe Pels throw in Davis too. Lmao

To me it's wild the 3-team deal (just having hte same trade, but sending Mirotic to Utah and Favors to NOLA) hasnt happened yet. The only explanation is that the Pels or Jazz don't want to help each other out.

Or DL doesn't value Mirotic.
