I doubt that had any impact whatsoever on the decision for Charlotte (and there were other suitors) to offer a max contract.I forget, but where people aware of the oncoming cap-spike during Hayward free agency?

I don’t think so. Certainly not to the degree that it jumped initially.I forget, but where people aware of the oncoming cap-spike during Hayward free agency?

Thank God... finally someone is doing something.Watching the entire Detroit game tonight to give my 100% accurate and right take on trading for anyone on that team. No other information will be needed.
Uhh, that would have a huge impact. I think Hayward was the year before everyone realized it was going to happen tho.I doubt that had any impact whatsoever on the decision for Charlotte (and there were other suitors) to offer a max contract.
Stanley Johnson is closer to Chris Singleton than Aaron Gordon. And I sincerely doubt Gordon gets maxed.I love the idea of Gordon, but I cringe at $30 million a year. I'd entertain the idea of Stanley Johnson, and I love that he only makes $4 next year. Are they the same? No. Are their 3rd years halfway through similar? I think they are.
Get Fournier. Get Johnson. Get rid of Burks. As Donovan says - "LET'S GO"
It's wasn't as loud, but there was plenty of buzz about it.Uhh, that would have a huge impact. I think Hayward was the year before everyone realized it was going to happen tho.
Jazz matched the offer in July and the TV deal didn’t happen until October. The salary cap has nearly doubled since 2013. It wasn’t anywhere close to a sure thing. Negotiations were going on, but there was no guarantee that everything would work that way.Are you guys kidding... I knew about it as a fan so absolutely teams knew about it. Many people pointed it out.
My prediction for a Hood trade... Hood and either Joe Jesus or Favs to Philly Bayless, Korkmaz (fairly serious injury fyi), Philly's top 12 protected pick to Utah. Top 10-12 protected for a few years.
They keep max space... get a guy that fits. If they are going to impress the super FAs this summer they need to for sure make the playoffs. They have a million second rounders, another first rounder (maybe), and kind of have a roster crunch. Hood's RFA rights would be valuable to them... they can hunt for the big guys and have a fall back plan.

Did you have a name before HH?Yes and everyone new BRI was going up significantly at that point... only questions were really about doing a smoothing measure or having it spike like it did.
Anyone that was blindsided by it and wasn't forecasting and planning around it was completely dumb. I remember fighting with people on this site that yes Gordon's contract looks bad but the cap going up makes it much more palatable in future years.
Hayward's agent sure as hell knew what was happening.

Hah, no I just couldn’t remember how long you’d been on the board and people change names so much it’s nice to associate.Nope... you gonna fact check me?
