Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

It's not like we ask him to score a ton, he plays good def and makes plays that don't show up on a stat sheet.

He had lost a step defensively but his wingspan, IQ, and desire were there. He was hitting shots and showing a little bit off the dribble here and there.

I’m not convinced he is coming back but on draft night we could offer him and Jonas for Mirotic and save the pelicans or another team some money and pick up assets in the process. That trade chip has more value than Mario right now and as I outlined we may not want to pick up Mario because of the contract limitation.

Bruh. Think a little.

He's old. He just had knee surgery. There's a very distinct possibility that his days of being a good defender are over. Maybe you didn't know this, but you actually do use your knees to play defense, and make plays that don't show up on a stat sheet. Knees are not just for scoring. Shocking, I know.

Now I'm not saying he's over. I don't know. Seems like knee recoveries are improving every year, but this guy is 34. I'm not expecting very much from him in the future, that's all.

Isn't there a rule that you have to wait a year to sign a dude that you traded? Why would Orlando want an injured Sef? If they are just going to give Mario away, why take any salary back at all? Somebody would take him for a second rounder if that is all they are looking for.

"If we trade Thabo and Orlando declines his option for next year, we can re-sign him in the offseason."
There is no guarantee you can sign him. What if someone else wants him and gives more than we can? And why would Orlando decline his option? He's a difference maker on a great, expiring contract. They could get an asset for him in a trade instead.

It's here.

This could be the precursor to trade deadline mania.

or it could be the Hornets being crazy.

Does Charlotte move to trade either Howard or Cody Zeller now that they have Willy on the cheap contract?

I don't watch alot of Hornets, do they ever play Frank the Tank Kaminski at center?

Charlotte would love to trade Cody Zeller and groom Willy under Dwight. Dwight expires right when Charlotte has to start paying Willy a new deal.

Yeah, good luck to them moving those contracts. It's impossible if they value their draft picks, which as a ****** team, they absolutely should.

Maybe Charlotte should trade all their draft picks...they keep doing it wrong. Zeller, MKG, Kaminski,

Word is they would be willing to deal Monk. I’m not a huge fan. I think they will try and move one of those big salaries and attach Monk as the motivation.

Maybe they move Frank but he isn’t enough to get me to take on one of their huge contracts. Frank and Marvin for AB and Jonas? IDK but they have so many bad contracts.

The only thing trading for hezonja will do is increase his value and drive up his price in free agency. Wait and try and sign him for cheap this off season if you like him.
