Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

The problem with the Jazz thinking this will be a tank year that will pay dividends later is that the core 5 are better than the front office believes .they think we were competitive because of Jefferson and milsap and now think its tank time without them.problem is they are wrong and this tank team will be good enough to ruin their tank dreams.I dont like this deal at all.its stating they dont think the core 5 are as good as last years jeff-milsap team.

They just had to give up Landry and Jarret Jack. Glad they are set for 4 years, Lindsey just set up Utah for 10. Your move...

The Warriors also had to renounce their rights to guard Jarrett Jack and forward Carl Landry. Golden State had the Bird rights to Jack, which meant they could sign him to a new contract despite being over the cap. But to get under the cap, the Warriors had to waive that right and now Golden State can't afford Jack or Landry. San Jose Mercury-News

Getting two late 1st round picks helps set us up for 10 years? Losing Jack will hurt them a little, Barnes can just slide over to PF for Landry's minutes, where he excelled at late last year anyways.

We've still got no bench bro.

Cannot believe people are complaining about this. This is a home run. Yeah, this year is going to be ruff. But isn't that what we've been asking for? Tank4Wiggins? Next summer we will once again be WAY under the cap with two first round picks, many future 1st and 2nd rounders plus a ton of young talent. Add all that up and you have serious fire power to move up in the draft and get your franchise player. Not to mention what, four or five expiring contracts! That alone could net us ANOTHER first round pick. Dennis is a mad genius! Stoked the Jazz have the nuts to tank while giving the kids major minutes with a plan for 2014.

We gained multiple pics, cap space next summer, expirings, Rush and two washed up vets for... wait for it... Murphy. How is that not a home run?

You can buy late picks for a lot less than $24 million. Outside of getting a young player out of this deal, I think the Jazz could have done better if they waited it out. Let Iggy shop around and wait for them to get desperate enough to deal Barnes instead of one of the picks. Buy a late pick if you really want it. I know the 2014 draft is stacked at the top, but I don't think that the trade today helps the Jazz get up into the top 5. I'd have rather had Barnes than Rush and the two picks. But that's me.

Listen, that money had to be spent. Lindsay spent it on two 1st round picks and rented a backup big and shooting guard for one year. I like that a lot better than just passing out bonuses to our players at the end of the year or signing FA to multi-year contracts.

maybe that is why jazz didnt want to play young guys last year

didnt want to give them too much experience so they could probably tank this upcoming year

Yer dreamin, fella.

no doubt the team this year is going to suck

look at our ****ing bench

we will have the same problems portland had last year

good young starters, but a bench that is going to struggle to score.

bench is hte key to the tank

lead us to the wiggins jefferson.

For anyone saying this team is too good to tank you're kidding yourself. Portland had a MUCH better starting group last year and managed to only win thirty a couple games. As long as you tell Ty to tank a little by playing bench guys, it will be fine.

Jazz has learnt their lesson with GSW tankers.......

Both of those first-round picks the Jazz will get from Warriors in 2014 and 2017 are unprotected.

We will grow, not win, with Trey starting this year. We'll take our lumps this year, but the foundation will be set to add a key free agent and/or a top rookie next year.

"Why This Trade is GREAT:

1- Our Young Guys are OFFICIALLY taking over. The only player we took on that might play major minutes is Rush. We also will be handing the keys to Burke.

2- We really didn't give up anything. For those of you worried about how we spent the $26 mill, what better could we have done with the money? Would you have rather signed a veteran to take time away from Kanter, Favors, and Burke?

3-We get all that cap space back NEXT YEAR! We didn't take on anything long term. This means that if there is a FA we want next year we might be able to get him (because we sure weren't getting anything good with the $ this year. Would you of rather signed Big Al or Millsap? Maybe Mo Williams?)

4- We're making sure that we won't be very good next year. This helps our chances of getting Wiggins, Gordon, Randal, Smart, or Jabari.

5- Late first round picks have value if you have a good GM. Lindsey will find talent with a pick in the mid 20s. Look at what he did in San Antonio.

I think everyone was simply mad because we didn't get Klay or Barnes, but that was never a possibility. They weren't going to trade their expiring contracts and Barnes just so they could sign Iggy. That doesn't make any sense at all."

Repped.
