Darius Miller always seemed like a guy who should have higher value than he actually does. Good shooter, big, and I remember PKM called him the most athletic UK player.
god, no. Ariza has been washed for years. He’s 36 years old.Why not Trevor Ariza?
I think he can come back a la Batum if we can't get batum. Apparently we have two vet min exceptions to go along with the MLE.
My offseason dream is any combination of 2 of the following players using the MLE and 2 vet min exceptions :
OPJ
Ariza
Batum
Torrey Craig
Rudy Gay (pick any 2 from the list above)
plus ...a vet backup point guard
And the best versatile 6'10" athletic draft pick. Replace any 4 of the bottom 5 players. That gives us the best chance at a deeper playoff run.
Did you find out what was going on? Was it really a bunch of dicks?god, no. Ariza has been washed for years. He’s 36 years old.
Batum is 32.
Just one. One is all it takes if it's in the wrong place.Did you find out what was going on? Was it really a bunch of dicks?
I mean, for the minimum, I’d bring in Ariza. Averaged 10ppg on 35% shooting from 3.god, no. Ariza has been washed for years. He’s 36 years old.

I mentioned him earlier... then did a small dive into his season. He was really good in OKC... actually gets some of his threes off of pullup and looked really healthy coming off the Achilles. I was annoyed to find out that homeboy was released by the Thunder in time to be eligible for the playoffs. Probably could have grabbed him for a minimum and gotten a team option for this year. I think I'd rather sign him than Ariza ( I worry Ariza would sign here and kind of slack).Darius Miller always seemed like a guy who should have higher value than he actually does. Lets bring Korver, Ian Clark and Mudiay back. Makes as much sense.I'm cool with Ariza but I don't think we get a super motivated Ariza if he is on a minimum deal. I think he will have options at the minimum and likely heads back to LA.
If we got a motivated Ariza at the minimum then great. Here at Jazzfanz we determine guys to be washed that end up coming back and kicking ***
No thanks… I’m talking Abdul Nader types… Kenrich Williams, Darius Miller (a little older but oh well), Langston Galloway, Sterling Brown, Gary Clark (maybe a small ball 5)…Lets bring Korver, Ian Clark and Mudiay back. Makes as much sense.
Yeah that's why I brought it up. It's just weird no one wants him ever.I mentioned him earlier... then did a small dive into his season. He is a hired gun that goes from one lawless community to the next where his services are needed.Y
Yeah that's why I brought it up. It's just weird no one wants him ever.
I think guys want him. He was coming off an Achilles injury but signed a 2 year 14M deal before the injury. Weird he didn't get picked up this season though. Rivers sat at home for a month until Denver needed him... so sometimes weird things happen. We should have nabbed him for sure though.Y

That might be overpayingLaurie Markannen. I would see if we can do a sign and trade. Maybe Favors, Dok or JC. Sweeten it with a pick.
Maybe but it would interest the Bulls. Markannen is an offensively efficient/productive player. He can play the backup 5 and the 4. He can also be a secondary rim protector playing with Rudy but he can stretch the floor. I would do a trade so that we don't increase the salary overall. That might be overpaying

Im good with Batum taxpayer MLE but I’ve always liked his game. That’s a good get. I’d be fine with Gay at that number as well… OPJr is another guy in that range but the injury stuff is terrifying… he might be Brandon Roy. Get one guy in that group and then get one more guy in the younger vet group,
At pg I’d rather shoot for a younger option… Jordan McGlaughlin is a guy I like who has proved he’s an nba player but might be more in a better situation.
We just don’t need 7 guys that are completely unproven… shave that number to 3-4 and if they don’t show ability to get in the court move on. Quin needs to be willing to play guys and we may have to trade Favs to force him to either play a small ball 5 and a different scheme or to try Udoka… no way he pivots with Favs on the roster.
