Obviously when Watson returns there will be a big decision to be made as to who is the backup, Watson or Tinsley.

Personally, I think the choice is clear. Jamall Tinsley. He can run the break, and a half-court offense. No one will mistake him for an offensively dominant player, but teams must respect his shot and defend him. His passing is 2nd to none on the team, and he dictates the halfcourt action. I can see improvement in Kanter and Favors running pick n' rolls and I attribute that to playing with Jamall these past handful of games. Yes, he isn't a very good defender, sometimes pretty poor, letting penetration happen. Rare is it though backup PG's are really good enough to expose him. I believe his positives outweigh any negatives he brings.

I loved Watson hustle and passion at the start of the season. They were 2nd to none on the team. He ran the fast break with the young guys amazingly during our home heavy schedule, making exciting plays left and right. His defensive hustle was suffocating at times, resulting in TO's and the rest of the team matching his intensity. The fact is though he struggles to run sets in the half-court and his lack of offensive game means teams usually don't guard him at all. Also, since his first ankle injury his defensive ability has dropped to sub-par. He still brings his trademark intensity, but it doesn't have the same effect now that we are playing just as many road games as home games.

Jamall should be the man going forward and getting all the back-up PG minutes. What do you think?

They're both older guys that bring a great deal of professionalism and leadership to this team. I like Tinsley's ability to score over Watson. But I like Watson's tenacity and fire over Tinsley's...with that said, I can't vote on one or the other...

To me, it's like asking which child I love more...I love them both the same and will differ to Coach Corbin to make the tough call as to who gets the minutes.

The answer is Jamaal Tinsley. He is playing better right now than Watson ever was. I am a believer in the idea that a player should not lose his job to injury... unless the player that replaces him in the lineup is better. I am sorry, but Tinsley is clearly the better player right now of the two and should be getting all of the primary reserve PG minutes.

Tinsley is the reason I want Kendall Marshall.
But Tinsley's defense is the reason I don't want Kendall Marshall.

But then we lose the early-oops to Burks and Evans. But Tinsley is the better all around player

Tinsely was playing great D on Jimmer last night in the late first/second quarter. I think he got tired, but it's the best I've ever seen him play D as a Jazzman.

I can't believe the short memory that all of you have. When Watson is healthy, he is the more complete player.

I like them both. I'd strongly consider bringing both back next year. Tinsley has been one of the coolest stories of the year.

Stop going against the grain and having a different opinion :)

You all have no right to defend Tinsley. Earlier this season he was dead to you people. Grandpa was the only poster here who was ready and even desired to see Tinsley on the floor. All of you stated, that he had been picked up for no reason other than to be a practice player and should never see the floor in a game. Hindsight is 20-20 and now we have Tinsley fans. A few were ready to see him get 2-5 minutes on the floor, just out of curiosity. Without injuries, i question if he would of actually been given a chance.

As far as the heated debate about rather or not this team should be trying to win or tank the season is hilarious. Jazz management will not ever try to not win games. All of them. As it should be. The draft will just have to be what it always is, a turkey shoot.

Stop being stingy and scoot your fat *** over. There is room on that soapbox for two.

Tinsley is much more of a scoring threat than Watson. Tinsley even brings some excitement with his street ball like play, such as going through the other teams legs, and passing that ball to himself off the butt of the opponent. Watson had that one good game against the lakers at home a month or more ago and since then hasn't done a whole lot. Our 2nd unit has played much better under Tinsley I believe. We've won 5 in a row with Tinsley as the back up PG. Why try and fix what isn't broken?

Tinsely is a better story and offensive player, but Watson is better all around. His defense is better and his offense is just a step below.

Watson is shooting 35% from the floor, and 19% from 3. Tinsley is shooting 43% from both the floor and 3. I think it's safe to say his offense is more than just a step above Watson's. It is a whole floor above it.

I voted for Tinsley because when he's on, he's better than Watson ever was. I really like Watson too as he has definitely won some big games for us. I really like the idea of keeping both of them, but I have a feeling that both will get some decent offers from other teams in the offseason.

I think the good news is, since Harris has been playing much better lately his trade value is higher and with both Watson and Tinsley playing stellar ball, we can keep both of them next season and look to trade Harris this offseason even if it is not for another pg.

The old adage is you don't lose your starting job due to injury, but it's never that absolute and Watson isn't even a starter. Earl gives us alot and can swing the momentum of a game with his defensive pressure, but right now Tinsley has the 2nd-unit offense humming and you don't disrupt that even though Watson brings far more to the table in terms of defense and energy.

Never know how quickly things can change, Tinsley's aging so he could hit a slump or someone could get nicked up so it's not like you're banishing Watson to the bench forever...but right now Tinsley has the hot hand so you've got to ride him out. The great thing is Earl is the consummate pro and team-first player, so he's will handle a demotion down to the 3rd PG with pure class, continue working hard, being supportive and doing whatever he can to help the team.

I like Watson's game a lot, though his shot is one of the ugliest of all time. But Tinsley has the offense gunning and he's a better shooter. For now I say stick with him, bring Earl back slowly.
