Really? The Lakers are spending twice as much in player salaries as Houston. I won't even begin with their respective local TV deals. How's that different from HS soccer? The kids are just kids who happen to go to those schools. They're not pros and there is certainly no recruitment.

Then how are they not on a completely even playing field? How are the odds stacked against your high school team? Maybe they are not as good but that is still a even odds. And yes it bothers me to lose. Even if the other team is just better.

You should not consider your kids failures if they lose. But if I were one of your kids I would have considered each lose a failure.

Also there is a reason I said relatively even playing field. In the NFL it's pretty much completely even. In the NBA they are getting better but are still a long way from there.
