What's new

We need Frank Vogel!!!

I noticed Brian Goorijan did not renew his deal in Australia. The guy is 68 years old, coached the Aussie Olympic team to a bronze medal and is renowned for player conditioning and defense. He has a won loss record of .711 as a head coach there. He grew up in Southern California and went to Pepperdine. Why not bid Quin adieu sign this guy as coach and sign JIngles as a player coach and head coach in waiting.

Player-coaches are actually against the rules now.

It's because of the salary cap. If they were allowed, the Lakers could pay Lebron $100m/yr to be both, and it wouldn't count against the cap because coaches salaries don't.

Have this guy coach and have JIngles as a player. Conditioning and playing defense, what a novel concept.

Love Goorj, dunno if at 68 its the time for him to head to the NBA, also not sure if he wants to head back to the US to live. He did a pretty good interview on Bogut's podcast about his journey here, the place that basketball and life in this country has for him. Really good interview. He's a great coach, has pretty been coach and GM of most of his teams during his time coaching here. If you compare him to Brett Brown, I always thought he was the superior coach, part of his statement when stepping down from the hawks, was that he was considering offers overseas, I had assumed China or Europe.

nah not NBA material. He's a guy who's great at getting the most out of players but not exactly a Xs and Os genius

How about Jazz hire a best young coach in Europe. Sarunas Jasikevicius. That would be thinking outside the box move.

When was the last time a coach from Europe had any major success in this league? Blatt sort of did but it took the Cavs replacing him with Lue to win their first and only title.

when did any coach had major success( title) with the Jazz? Yes, European coach is a risk but what is there to lose? Might as well roll the dice.

I mean winning the number one seed is kinda a big deal especially for the Jazz? But I get you. If we let Quin go, it probably gonna be for some cheap unknown coach so it's entirely possible for us to take a look at this guy

Pistolis and Ataman are better. Pablo Laso may be as well.

I’ll say it. We need a black head coach.

If we are all about diversity and shedding the racist Utah image, and want to keep Donnie, and attract talent, I think hiring a bright, young, black head coach is a must. I think he’d reach Don in a way Quin’s robotic *** can’t, and held mend the relationship between Don and Rudy. I think he could be the guy to help attract guys to help round out the roster.

Sorry but this Quin situation lingering on is dumb. If it hasn’t been resolved, that’s only bad news long term.

How do you judge better? Barca with Sarunas beat Real this year for ACB championship and cup...so why Laso is better? Pistolis? Really? Only one I can agree with you may be Ataman as he won more as a coach...

You guys are totally ignoring Pendleton. You can't tell me he doesn't warrant a mention. Plus, he took Lemke to the TRX championship without Gant! Come on!? Plus, he did all of that while Avery had an infected septum. Get real.
