And God's name is Mike Proctor. And everyone over the age of 25 needs to own a gun to get prepared for the revolution. What an idiot.

MILLCREEK — A SWAT situation has developed in Milcreek, where a man appears to have set up explosive devices in his yard possibly neighbors.

Neighbors say the man is David Baker and has a series of websites and YouTube videos in which he talks about the apocalypse and exhibits bizarre behavior. He is also seen using weapons and describing how to make explosive devices using trip wires.

Police aren't sure how dangerous the situation is, but homes in the area near 3750 South 3100 East are being evacuated and police are actively working on the situation. The situation appears to be getting worse and police have expanded the area of the evacuation in the last few minutes.

There are also reports that his home is booby trapped. He is also said to have put explosive devices in the yards of his neighbors.
it is unclear whether police were called because a device was found or because of his behavior

Baker allegedly planted an explosive device on a home in Thousand Oaks circle in the east bench.

Neighbors say he allegedly came home in the early afternoon yelling "The police will be coming," then ran into his house and closed the garage door.

Police are aware of the man and said he has made threats to police before. They also says he has posted many videos in which he makes threatening messages to police.

He also claims to be running for president. On videos posted, he claims God is his vice president and appears to claim that God's name is is Mike Proctor.

"God's my vice presidential candidate," Baker said in a video posted Sept. 17. "It's Mike Proctor. And he said to remind everybody that we're going to put the NRA out of business. Do you know how?"

Baker is seen on the videos unshaven and erratic. He also claims that God speaks to him as he wanders around his home filming himself.

"Hello my name is David Baker and I talk to God," he announces at one point.

"One of the problems talking the God is he says so many things to me, it's hard to keep them all straight," Baker said.

Baker claims in the videos that when he smokes extremely large amnounts of marijuana, which he often calls "blueberry toast" that God begins to speak with him and he feels "God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

He also said his role was to "crush" the spirit of "lesser men."

"What I was put on this Earth to do is to crush the spirit of lesser men. Anybody who lies to hurt I make feel uncomfortable."

In many videos, he talks about his presidential position on guns. He claims that everyone over the age of 25 "must" own a gun.

"When the revolution comes it will not be televised, it will be live, and I want everyone in this country armed," he shouts.

Later he says, "Don't let the Devil take over. Turd-blossom is gonna come and take your guns. Obama's gonna come and take your guns."

We definitely need to legalize this crap. LOL

If anyone wants to know what drugs do to your brain, just watch this video.

Hopefully no one from his neighborhood or police enforcement gets hurt.

Or they could read legitimate academic literature. Way over your head, I know, but far more informative and credible than one looney who happens to smoke weed.

FWIW, Anders Breivik didn't smoke weed. If anyone wants to know what not smoking weed does to your brain, just look at what he did.

Also, weed is illegal AND this guy exists. It's more than a stretch to say that legalizing marijuana, which would lower financial resources used to arrest and prosecute drug users, would necessarily lead to higher rates of drug-related mental illness and/or drug-related crime. It's entirely possible that those diverted resources could be better used to combat drug abuse/addiction and corresponding negative side effects.

You might want to do some reading on the positive outcomes in jurisdictions where drug laws have been relaxed and/or where harm reduction strategies have been implemented (ignoring entirely the studies on grey matter volume and integrity).

Honestly, I think that video is a joke.

He seems to be smiling and holding back laughter. He just doesn't seem serious. It's like he's making fun of right wing nutjobs.

I don't know what is going on with the police around his house. I'll be interested to see the details as they emerge.

Does he really have explosives buried all over the place? Why were the cops there in the first place? How does he pay the bills?

That neighborhood isn't exactly "low income," and his house looked pretty decent from what I could see. So I'm pretty curious how this guy pays the bills if he is really the nutjob he's portrayed to be.

Lots of questions after reading that story and seeing the video. None of it makes me think marijuana should be illegal though.

BTW, I just read the other day that something in marijuana was just found to possibly cure cancer:
https://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cam/cannabis/healthprofessional/page4

I also read a while ago where Tommy Chong was having success using it to treat his own cancer:

Solid anecdotal evidence, I dont know how anyone could argue with that.

On topic...

Just saw on the news that they didn't find anything illegal at his house or at any of his neighbors'. They interviewed one of his neighbors and he said he wasn't worried about the guy and didn't think he was dangerous.

The police were there because the guy got into an argument with a "friend" who later called the police and said this guy had planted a bunch of bombs.

So there's nothing to see here. (And I'm still not convinced that the YouTube stuff wasn't a joke)

If the worst case scenario for legalizing marijuana is that some already crazy person might smoke some, and then make a bunch of weird YouTube videos in his own house, but never actually harm anyone, then it should definitely be legalized.

I have nothing against marijuana, but I think this is a potential candidate for what happened to this guy:

https://psychcentral.com/news/2010/06/19/marijuana-worsens-schizophrenia/14786.html

If that is the case, then the guy probably wouldn't be living in a nice house in a nice area. He was in one of the nicer areas in the valley, not some trailer park in trashville.

Unless he inherited a million dollars or won the lottery or something, I have to assume he made it to work everyday. And if he was really bat**** crazy, it would be quite a feat to find enough success in the workplace to support a nice house in an upper middle class neighborhood.

Like it says smoking weed exacerbates the condition (makes it worse). The person might otherwise be functioning. I'm just saying, they smoke weed and THEN "talk to God"....... *shrug*

I'm not claiming to be a doctor, just sounds odd.

No I agree it's totally weird. That's why I kind of think it was a joke. I don't think he'd be totally normal for 40 hours a week, successful even, and bat**** crazy after work. It just doesn't make sense.
