How many of you would trade Favors for say the 12th pick if it meant we could get OG?
We'd save a **** ton of money, get younger and maybe more physical and OG could turn into the stretch 4 we need. Do that and maybe even sign Patterson too.
I know nothing about draft prospects, I just know that I no longer believe in Favors, so sure. How many of you would trade Favors for say the 12th pick if it meant we could get OG?

When Hayward opts out the team is at 78 mill. Well under the cap. Burks is gonna get moved most likely, that's another 10 mill. Favors is making 12 mill and could possibly be moved. Diaw's 7.5 mill is non guaranteed. It's not Hill or nothing. They have options.
Even if we can move some of those guys, it's extremely optimistic that they can all be moved without bringing back a single dime of salary.
Also, you're just dumping all of those players and HOPING the Jazz make a splash in free agency based on almost no previous history of doing so?
I mean, I'd love Millsap or Ibaka, but it's probably wise to consider what you have to lose just to make an offer.
I love when people say let hill walk and just get guy X with that Hill money. Shows you have zero concept of the cap and our situation.
If Hill walks we are shopping for the a new point guard in bargain section for a replacement that won't be nearly as good... forget getting an upgrade.
And further, you would have to think dumping those guys would mean unloading draft picks, which is basically the Jazz's only way to add roster changing talent these next few years because of how capped out we will be, with or without Hill.
Which is why Hill's agent didnt sign an extension. He has the Jazz by the balls and he knows it. Jazz should just pray CP3 and Lowry change teams and eat up some of this available free agent PG money.
I think him ending the season in a suit will hurt his value even with the bottom feeders. San Antonio may come knocking but I'd feel safe offering more than they can/will I think.
I think we keep him for somewhere in between 20-25 per over 4 years.
We can dump all those it's without sending first rounders.

To me, it just doesn't feel smart to dump $25/30 million per into a guy that's on the wrong side of 30 and is probably going to give us around 60 games next year. Even if he's healthy in next years playoffs, does he really get us over the hump with GSW? No. It's a tough spot to be in and the Jazz are gonna have to get creative/lucky if they let Hill walk but that's why Lindsey gets paid the big bucks.
Committing that much cash to Hill honestly feels like Utah locks into being the 4th or 5th best team in the West for the next 4 or 5 years with an annual second round ouster from the playoffs (and that's if Hill is healthy).

So the Jazz are $20mil over the cap heading into the offseason. Who are they dropping to sign these other free agents?
I just dont think you let George Hill walk if you can re-sign him for anything south of 30,000,000. Just can't let an asset like him go. If the Jazz lose him and dont recoup of value, we are a worse team next year.
