Not a horrible pickup? But I.got some beef with it if he’s starting. First how is he any different than Crowder, maybe more athletic, but he’s a streak shooter just like Crowder. Other than last year 34%. Not bad but not great. He hasn’t shot better than 32% the five years prior to last year. I would be fine with him coming off the bench, don’t want him anywhere near the starting lineup.

He's starting. Probably going to play like 15-20 mpg.

I guess that makes me feel a little better. But was hoping for more of a shooter, but I guess I can’t complain, any shooter worth starting will be out of our price range I guess.

A. We were at our best with Crowder in the lineup though.
B. We don't have anyone else to start at the 4.

Exactly the point I was about to make. This addition is a massive one because he can fill a number of positions. Through the tough grind of the regular season, Jeff Green can play a bunch of minutes when we need to give older guys like Ingles and Bojan some rest.

I'm fairly ok with the Crowder type shooting at the 4 being the relief for ingles/bogdanovic and not our strongest option there. Also could put O'neale there sometimes (especially if Exum is health, which is a really big if).

I was thinking about this today. Acquiring Conley before FA began, set the table for other free agents to come. Players noticed Utah was serious about contending. And Conley seems to be one of the most likeable and respected players around the league.
