What could Jazz want/get for Gobert?

Y'all are brutal.

@OP... I'm not sure why you chose Gobert.. but the 2nd part of your query is an interesting question I'd like the local armchairs to answer.

What's our biggest positional need.. ? (Extra points for short answers)

Stretch four.

Andrew Wiggins

Isn't this the same Gobert who is going to replace Favors, and probably Olajuwon down the road? Why would we trade him for anything short of LeBron?

We need a star! We have good young players in every single position! What we don't have is a super star! A player to elevate the whole team. A player to take the team on his back when it gets tough in a game. A player to really deserve his max salary with his play for the team. And... two of those would be best, but lets say we have one with the potential to be a multi-year all-star(Exum), if we can by any chance trade for another one, that would be great. Unfortunately as a market we are not very attractive destination and players simply wouldn't want to come(or if forced to come - they wouldn't want to stay).

BIG-AL ???

A better question is: Why in the hell would the Jazz trade Gobert?

Exactly. Why would Utah EVER trade Gobert? He's going to be a starter some day.
Our biggest positional need is PF. We don't have a legit starter unless Enes has decided to play defense. I'd say PG but I think Exum WILL develop into an all-star caliber talent.

Long-term, I think Utah will need to decide between Favors and Gobert. The way Rudy is developing, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a HUGE deal when his contract is up. If Derrick can't extend his shooting range and become a PF, I predict the Jazz look to trade him or just let him go when his contract is up.

Biggest need: Anther learning season. We have no clue what we have. Maybe Favors, Hayward, Burks and Exum all turn into All-Stars. Maybe they all peaked last year, and will never be as good as they were last year. Right now, we need everything.

The hope is that Favors, Hayward, Exum and Gobert become what we need. The hope is Burks and Kanter can develop into something useful or moved for something useful. The hope is Snyder can help these guys turn into what we need.

But right now, this very second? We have a nice C, an above average SF (Hayward) and a hell of a lot of questions. Kind of sad.

Solid post.... though you still don't value Burks quite as much as you should imo.

Burks has already developed into something useful. (Very good 6th man)

I agree about the sixth man. He is a fantastic sixth man. I'm not so sold on him as a starter. The problem Utah will have is do you overpay your sixth man? Probably not at this point, especially not after giving Hayward that deal. So, you probably hope he fails as a starter, so you can bring him back on CJ Miles money or hope he blows up big enough that you don't want to overpay him, but somebody does and you move him at the deadline for a vet sixth man with a couple years left.

Gobert's market-value isn't as high as his ceiling, which means he is nearly untouchable.

Maybe we can revisit this when those two values are swung towards each other.

LOL at the idea that Minnesota would trade Andrew Wiggins for Kanter/Gobert. LMAOTBPMFHWY at the idea that the Jazz pass.

That was challenging. And agreed, not happening. Still early to determine what Gobert's value might truly be though, and Enes needs to make big strides this year if he envisions Utah as being his home for a few years imo.

Pretty sure the Jazz would trade anyone on the roster for Wiggins.

Also pretty sure the guy who suggested that we trade Kanter/Gobert for Wiggins was joking.
