What could've been at trade deadline

At least that would have been "something"...

Now it's looking likely we're gonna lose Sap & Big Al for nothing. Zip.

Nah, Eric Gordon is injury prone and his contract is huge. That kind of mixture could kill the youth movement.

If so (and I'm not saying it is right or wrong just saying) the Jazz must have valued the cap space over Eric Gordon.

Although I was also wondering if the Jazz could get him and injury was my biggest concern, eating up max contract was my 2nd, and 3rd was his attitude if he faking or "Boozer'ing" his injury.

Eric Gordon ranks towards the top of the list of players I want absolutely no part of.

This. If he is all of a sudden healthy it would've been awesome, but most likely we get the 25-30 games per year Gordon.

Yeah I guess so.. but it's so hard to get a legit FA to sign here though..

there are teams that will look at SnT for either.

I think SnT under the new CBA only allows you to do it for 4 years, instead of the Max. 5 (or even less than 6 years under the previous rules), so there's less incentives for teams to do so.

I understand but there are capped out teams that need change. ie lakers to get better they would have to work a SnT.

millsap would be a perfect fit next to Howard and do great in mike d'antonios (sp) offense.

NY, LA, Dallas, New Brooklyn, Potland. These are the teams that can afford to make mistakes with players like Gordon. It would be very difficult for the Jazz to overcome, just like it will be for the pelicans. Until league addresses that type of problem the league is just a glamorized Globtroters game with more drama and less fun.

Maybe teams will learn that you shouldn't sign a player who doesn't even want to join your team.

Did you see Gordon the last time NOH played The Jazz? He acted like a complete jerk off.

Besides, Gordon isin't a shooter, he is a scorer. He needs the ball in his hands A LOT to be effective. I see no scenario where he would work out in Utah.

I wouldn't call $24M in cap space nothing. The worst thing to have happen would have been to acquire another 1 or 2 guys like Marvin Williams - i.e. role players who are WAY overpaid. Marvin was worth the risk; he only has 1 year remaining and the contract comes off the books before major dollars have to be paid out to Favors and Hayward. Won't we have like $30M available this year? We can "help" a lot of teams lighten or escape luxury tax payments...at a HUGE premium to them, either in terms of a starter or a good young player or high draft pick.

Yeah im really excited to see what Dennis can do this off season. He seems like he wants to make a big deal but doesn't want to let us down. I think he makes so great pick ups for the future. Also with more minutes I think marvin can still be a decent pickup.

I guess I'm in the minority that wouldn't mind bringing him over. He is a bonafide scorer in the NBA.

I can see him having a strong year and some other team might put up something good (2014 Top 3 protected draft pick) for him. The Jazz are still in stockpiling assets mode.

When I listed to that on the radio, it sounded like breaking stuff, but then Locke said Gordon was available to anyone for a bag of chips, so it the end it sounded like an assumption on his part.

I've cooled on Gordon but there is a lot of crazy-conjecture going on about him that all sounds really quite silly. Gordon is a good player, and that's all I can say for sure. That, and if NOH didn't want him then they could've not matched the offer sheet. Especially if Gordon drew a line in the sand about it (which he kind of did).

If Locke really did say the Gordon was available for a bag of chips then he's so full of ****. You think the Celtics wouldn't offer junk for Eric Gordon? Or half of the talent-starved and desperate teams in the league? He needs to stop talking like he's The Thriller. Again, if.
