Giving him a C isn't defending him, it's being realistic.

It's frightening how many of you apparently view a C as a good grade. Weird.

If we would have made the playoffs and maybe won one home game in the series. ...people would not be still giving him an F.

C would be average. Just by the natural progression of our young players alone we shouldn't have been worse than last year. Not to mention Mo, Marvin, and Foye is an upgrade from Harris, Miles, and Josh Howard. He deserves somewhere between D and F. I rounded down.

Granted, it has been a few years, but when I went to school a C was a lot better than an F. Call me crazy. You're entitled to your opinion, fair enough that you thought he improved. How long did it take him to improve incrementally? 2.5 years. At this pace, he might be worthy of a C in another 2.5 years. That's 5 wasted years. Unacceptable.

I've said this before, but the smartest guy on our bench is Horny. IMO, he should be our coach, but unfortunately, the Jazz are going to waste another year before they realize it.

I gave another F.

No guts, no decisions. . . . nothing but doing what's "safe" and predictable.

The whole "locker room harmony" thing is not what the game is about.

Play for the win. If you don't do that you're not any kind of coach.

Gave him a "DNP-CD."
That stands for "Did Not Produce - Consensus Decision."
*
1. He was tasked with making the playoffs. Jazz did not.
2. He had an opportunity to develop the young guys. They did not play enough.
3. Excuses, excuses, excuses, re: the play of the PG's. TY HIMSELF talked at one point about how well Burks and Foye played together. Yet even when Mo returned, he continued to trot out Tinsley and Watson, neither of whom can throw a stone in the ocean from 10-ft away.
4. Did the Jazz even have an offensive system? A defensive one? Blame the previous versions of ineptitude on taking over late for Jerry or on the lockout last season. But he had a full year this time and NOTHING happened, other than watching the ball be thrown into Al...repeatedly.
5. The Jazz UNDERACHIEVED. And that is largely on the coach.

So true. It's about doing what it takes to win, not keeping vets happy, particularly free agent vets. I want a coach with ambition and Ty just doesn't have it. Total waste considering we didn't even make the playoffs and we'll get a crap draft pick to cap off this mediocre, forgettable season.

Maybe I'm alone, but I would consider a C to be below average.

I view a "C" as average. Since I don't think Corbin is even close to average it's a far better grade than he deserves. This season was a fail on so many levels I don't see how anybody can give him over a "D"

Ya I think you are alone.
A is good
B is pretty good
C is average
D is bad
F is really bad
Or something along those lines

I was going to give him a D, then I remembered that time he benched Derrick for the last 20 minutes of the game after he started 23 points and 15 boards in three quarters and changed it to an F. I will never forgive and never forget that.
