What's new

What happened to Derrick Favors at the age of 25 and can he bounce back?

That was years ago. He ripped anything Jazz related off his twitter and knows he's been on the trading block.

but that has been in light of having to pay ****ward .. now that the money is there for him will everything be seen in a different light ?

Would it for you? Favors was arguably a better player than Hayward up until last year.
My guess is he would resign but its going to be at zero discount this time which makes it near impossible imo.

i'm assuming he gets paid ... be interesting to see. His agent certainly seemed to indicate it would be a lot more feasable if GH had moved on.

I think he's feeling wary because a lot of the spotlight went to Gobert and Hayward..as well as trade block rumors. I think this will neutralize the chance of a positive emotional based decision. Obviously injury played a lot into the circumstances..

I think that in light of the injuries he looked pretty good in the playoffs. I expect him to have his best season this year

A little bit I think. Now that Hayward is gone we should be able to retain Favs, Exum, and Hood. Could give out a combined $45M annually for them combined and still be 5-6 M below the tax.

I still think his talents would be maximized elsewhere, but now that we don't need the salary off the books I think you just see if he can get right again.

If Favs, Exum, and Hood all do well the real question will be is it good enough? We need another all-star. Surrounding Rudy with a bunch of good players wont do much for us in the Wild West. Unless one of them really breaks out, or Mitchell breaks out, we will have to move pieces to find an all-star caliber replacement.

Yep, most people thought Favors to be the better player out of him and Hayward until just recently. Had Favors not been hurt, I'm not sure Hayward breaks out like he did. I believe the day will soon come where we will need to resurrect those necrothreads calling for Favors to be traded for a late first rounder to laugh at people.

Its not just his defense but I think he is vital to beating these small ball bitch boys like GS.

I don't like the idea of running with GS, never have. Go old school, pound them down low and get them in foul trouble. Green can't handle a healthy Favs down low.

I'm excited to see Favors this year. The team really had to manage his health all season last year, and he was really a shell of himself.

Let's not forget, two years ago he may have been our best player and was an elite athlete at the PF position. If he can regain 90% of the athleticism/power that he had previously he should be a force again for us.

It's a huge season for him. If all goes well I wouldn't be stunned if we paid him and built our scheme around him and Rudy.

Rudy and Favs as starters are solid but they need some support at the 4 and 5 on the bench at the moment the bench is a giant donut.

mmmmmmm donuts ...

I've stopped eating carbs and I probably go to the Vic Market at least once a week, the desire to hit the donut van near fresh produce area is almost overwhelming. I normally just stare at it with longing and have a cigarette.

Eggs for breakfast, normally have my big meal of the day at btw 8 and 9pm which is normally bit of chicken or beef with a small amount of rice. And a smaller meal at 3am normally a small bit of chicken stir fry or beef satay. That's my normal work routine, weekends off are different, I normally have a few beers and cook for the girlfriend, so its salads and grass fed beef, some decent cheeses and so on.

The desperation in this forum is so sad. We lose Hayward, which all the signs and many posters on here said was probable, and people put up 10 threads whining about it.

Now, we are trying to hang our hat on another guy which most signs say he's leaving next summer. We have to prioritize Hood over Favors if they have good years next year because it is a wing league. We will prioritize Hood just like Hayward and Favors will leave. Whether due to money, hard feelings, whatever, he will leave. In the very small chance he does stay, its because we overpay and in two years we all will be cussing his very name because his contract like Ostertag, AK, Burks, etc.

Its just sad because its our proven cycle.

You know cigarettes are less healthy than carbs right?
