He's not going to get fired. I would be real surprised. I dont think his contract is renewed though.
1- We're like last in the league defensively and offensively with quite a bit of lotto talent
2- Our PnR defense sucks even without Al. I actually regret hating Al right now, I thought it was his completely fault that the PnR defense was bad. Turns out it's not.
3- For whatever reason, our bigs are moving too much and scrambling on defense. A good defensive and offensive team does not make its bigs move this much.

Can you imagine Eaton trying to play Corbin's style of defense?

We can't continue to be a non-competitive rabble and get repeatedly blown out for the whole season. On-court, when a game ceases to be competitive, it's impossible to develop players or assess their ability. Off-court, fans will stop going to games and buying merchandise. These things will be triggers to the front office and ownership that a change must be made before irrevocable damage is done. The only question is how much of Corbin's contract will the Millers be willing to swallow in order to make that change, and they are more likely to opt for later rather than sooner, but the losses from the vast array of empty seats in ESA will tip their hand eventually. By the All-Star break our lottery position should be all but ensured, and it should also be clear (if it isn't already) that Ty is not capable of righting the ship. The change will be made with a view to building some late-season momentum, featuring competitive play and even adding a few meaningless wins late in the season. The late-season improvement and the addition of a top draft pick will enable the Jazz to market the team to fans (and more importantly the 2014 free agent class) that the Jazz are committed to winning again.

He will be here through the season, then get a new contract next summer, for 2-3 years. Not one of the options in the poll.

Are you trying to piss me off? Damn-it!! Now my morning is completely ruined! There goes my weekend! C'mon log!

It might suck, but you know it is the most likely scenario. Better to swallow the bitter pill now and get it over with.

The only thing I worry about is the Millers thinking, "let's give Ty a chance to see what he can do with some actual talent before we rush to decisions."

Corbin needs to go. He has done enough damage that this team will be in the lotto, but he is destroying whatever useful young talent there is.

The only way Ty is fired is if an amazing coach agrees to coach the Jazz. Otherwise, what good does firing Ty do? The goal of this year is to get a top 2 pick.

If firing Ty was an option, it would have happened last year, with Horny being promoted as intern coach. The Jazz were willing to sacrifice Horny, a jazzman with his jersey in the rafters, for the tank. Why do people think the Jazz are worried about you and me or some overrated draft pick? Remember, Lindsey's only "guy" is Burke. He taking a risk on Hayward, the Jazz's most popular player. Lindsey isn't concerned about us.

Ty has done a damn fine job game planning and running different looks on both sides of the court depending on who the opponent is. He has a few sets that Wiggins and Parker would completely dominate any team with (Strong Motion). I can't wait to watch him coach a good team for once.

IMHO (well , not so humble. Is anyone's?) there has not been a coherent thought posted in this thread so i am going to have to tick off a lot of people.
At this point i am 1 of 3 people who choose the first option. What i think and not what i want was the criteria. The other two probably chose that option because they are mad and depressed or actually agree with me, which i think is unlikely.

The Jazz/Miller organization will give Ty a new contract when they think the timing is right (during the off season or late in this season. Why? Because that's the way they do things and have handled the situation in the past. It is great way to keep your key people motivated and keeps options open, just make sure this key employee understands the drill so they don't get panicked. How many of you have ever worked somewhere that things were going to hell in a hand-basket? Usually who gets the blame? Management or employees? The more workers follow the wishes of management
the worse things get. They talk to the manager (never the employees) about the problems and guess what he says the problem is? Get new employees and lose the dead wood is invariably the solution. The Clippers did this for thirty years
or more before someone had a Eureka moment.

Miller point of view goes something like this. Well the fan base supported a youth movement which obviously was going to lead to a few losing seasons so why would they now blame our hand picked manager as the cause of the problems. Why do we? Well i think it is because very few fans actually thought at the time that Ty was the right man for the job. Personally i wanted Hornacek and we can all see how that is playing out. Phoenix understood who and what he was, the Jazz saw him as another ex-player on the staff without enough years with the organization.

This will lead to dissatisfaction with the fan base which of course in public they have always adored. How many business owners really love their customers and listen to their complaints as a way of improving the business?
This could lead to frustration with the whole situation until they decide to get rid of this division of the company (just to much trouble to deal with). Yes friends i am talking about the relocation of our franchise to Seattle ( most likely destination for the next team in trouble). Remember that car dealerships can be moved to Seattle much the same way as they were moved from Denver to Salt Lake.

So, is my outlook all doom and gloom? No. There is always the chance that the Millers see the truth of the situation or someone they believe in and trust helps them see it (DL, is still a new hire). Massive public unhappiness from the customer base is a risky time for any business. Recall the "New Coke" situation and the way Coke handled the problem (right way) or you can "let them eat cake" (wrong way). Great decisions will be reached or horrible ones. What can we do? Rebel, or, support the franchise by continuing to show up at the door with cash in hand and a smile on our face. Rebels always run a very large risk. But without rebels we would all have a Queen and a parliament to deal with.

Great stuff. Too funny.

The Utah Jazz have made the Millers over a BILLION dollars. They aren't going anywhere. You guys forget that the Millers OWN the ESA. So, they make all the profits off it. When Miley Cyrus strips on stage? Millers make money. When Disney Princesses skate on ice, they make money. They won't get that deal anywhere else. Also, they NEED the Jazz, so they can fund their "fun" projects, like that racetrack. They don't get the race track if they move the team anywhere.

Finally, if the NBA wouldn't let Sac leave, they won't let the Millers leave either.

My guess is Ty gets extended. Mostly because I want him so badly to be fired and the universe has it out for me recently.

Good and valid arguments green. But it doesn't change how they will handle the Ty Corbin situation. Greg wouldn't be the first son who inherited, to ruin the family business with wrong decisions. They always want to cut their own path. But i concede that you make some good points. Greed may yet win the day. But i believe we will be putting up with our dissatisfaction with Ty for a good while yet.

Argh. Yeah, I could see it going your way or my way. I hope it mine. :)
