If the Jazz have to lose every game the rest of the way, it would be better than retaining Corbin ... keeping him dooms the Jazz to long-term mediocrity, at best, and probably loss of the Core4, who will want to leave as soon as their contract obligations end -- as we can see from what is happening with Hayward. Favors signed only because he probably can't get a better offer.

I disagree. Keeping him this year does not guarantee long term mediocrity. At the end of this year, the Jazz will have to make decisions on most of the roster, including Hayward and Kanter. There is a slim chance that only Burke, Favors and Gobert are still here next fall. Ty will have zero effect on the long term success of this team...unless for some dumb reason, he is brought back.

You don't think Parker would dominate out of Corbin's version of Strong Motion? You're probably the only person on the planet.

You think parker would play over marvin/jeffy/old vet?

You are probably the only person on the planet

Corbin is not back with the team next year. DL said publicly that Corbin was being evaluated on his ability to create a defensive force. He hasn't done that. Not. Even. Close. He failed and he will have to find work elsewhere.

I just don't know that the Jazz gain anything by firing him. Why fire him just to put in an interim coach? Why fire him and put in a "good" coach that could derail the tank?

Unless they need to ship him out in order to land their dream coach right now I just don't see it. But I also don't see them being so delusional that they think he's their long-term answer. He had an assignment and he failed.

The Miller Family believes that an NBA Coach is a life time calling just like a Prophet for the Church is a life time calling. Corbin Will live as long as Gordon B Hinkley did, well into his late 90's establishing him self as the longest NBA head coach of all time only to become resurrected in the twinkling of an eye and continue as head coach through the Millennium setting a new all-time record as the longest coach of any sport in the history of mankind. Just think how good the Jazz can be with over 1000 years of top 4 picks.

This is a complete misconception. Sloan was one of the greatest coaches of all time. There was never a rational reason to fire him...so they didn't. That doesn't mean that when there is a reason to replace the coach they won't do it.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc my friend.

Exactly. Since the millers have owned the jazz we have had two losing seasons (holy **** two??), there has never been any great cause for making a change like this.

Remember, Lindsey's only "guy" is Burke. He taking a risk on Hayward, the Jazz's most popular player. Lindsey isn't concerned about us.

Actually, Lindsey said they drafted Burke because that is WHO Corbin wanted. If he has enough power in the organization to dictate who gets drafted, it makes me concerned that he will be here for longer than most any of us want to see him here for.

They all wanted him. DL was giving his boy a little face saying he was the reason for the action.

LOL!

Ummmm

A the jazz didnt have a PG last year. Earl and Jamaal are about 5 years past their expiration date and Mo is a SG. It was obvious before midseason last year that the Jazz were going to draft a PG. Burke was the college player of the year and ranked as either the #1 or #2 PG prospect.

It was obvious that the jazz were going to draft a PG last year. It was either going to be Burke or MCW. Burke's run to the NCAA Championship gave Burke the edge.

Stop acting like going after Burke was some weirdo idea only endorsed by Ty. Anyone else in the same situation as the Jazz were in would have probably done the same. And even if it was some weirdo idea, I'd support Ty on this one. We needed a PG. Drafting Burke/MCW >>> tinsley, Earl, Mo.

For a state so full of small businesses, I'm astonished as to why so many on this board think that the Jazz's management is somehow... Immune? Ignorant? Don't care? About what 100 percent of all businesses care about, the profits.

The Jazz aren't going to keep Corbin if they continue to get blown out, play uninspired, and fill the arena up with green seats. Not even Jerry could survive 3 straight years of declining ticket sales and community interest. Want to know Ty Corbin's job security? Don't check the standings. Ask anyone employed in the Jazz's ticket sales.

I have family members employed, and I guarantee you that Corbin won't be back. I am unsure that he will be fired midseason... But i guarantee you that his contract won't be renewed unless something BIG happens in the next few months.
