What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I really want to see Inherent Vice badly

Theory of Everything- Redmayne is total convincing of Hawking(impressive physical acting) which makes it more the frustrating that they don't cover enough of his work and instead focus on his relationship with his wife which turns it into a bore fest at times. It's not necessarily a bad movie but at the end you just want to know more about the man himself.

Predestination- going in i knew very little about it other than it was from the directors who made daybreakers. when i realized it was going to be about time travel i thought the movie was going to be meh, but it turned out to be a pretty interesting movie, led by a stunning performance from actress Sarah Snook. one of those movies that makes you think and ask questions once it is over. it's far from perfect but well worth a watch.

Seeing Inherent Vice tomorrow morning... I am looking forward to it.

I think this movie is a bit of a departure for Mr. Anderson. I liked it but it was at times hard to follow and hard to understand. Mr. Phoenix slurred a lot in this movie and the dialogue, based in 1970's drug speak, was not easier to understand. But the acting was stellar, the shots were great and the sound was very alive...meaning, the production mixer did a great job capturing the scenes.

Im def going to watch it again with the subtitles.

Watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes yesterday.

I am much happier with the personality and emotions of Ceaser than I have been with any other version of this story. I am hoping the human male lead sticks around for the next one. Just for some continuity on the human side of it.

How did you get to see it?

Really good movie

Watched fast times at ridgemont high...... mostly for pheobe cates boobs.

Twas worth it.
Plus the bikini she wears is red so that qualifies it as a holiday movie

Watched Bullets or Ballots the other day.

Standard '30s noir piece. One thing I noticed. There was a TON of smoking. I'd say there was a cigarette or cigar lit in 80% of the scenes. Obviously it wouldn't fly now, but I was surprised to see so much.

Kind of a slow night at work tonight...

Sooooo, I finished this:

If you're a fan of that period, this is a must watch. Lots of great footage.

youtube: Jennifer Lawrence on The Poker House: Bathtub Scene and Kissing Scenes

Fury - intense action scenes, well acted, afterwards it got me interested in looking up tanks on the internet so it succeeded.

The Guest - had high expectations from the director of You're Next(if you haven't seen it check it out, seriously) and this lived up to it, so absurd and yet incredibly entertaining.

Hobbit Battle of Five Armies is probably the worst movie i have seen at a theatre.

Written but not directed by Quentin Tarantino

Lot's of great actors and many in some of their earlier roles. Check out the "Sicilian Scene" for a good highlight.

still hilarious after all these years, some many great quotes

"It's like, how much more black could this be, and the answer is none... none more black."

"Dozens of people spontaneously combust every year"

'What's this one called?'
'Lick My Love Pump.'

Great movie. Everyone kills it. Well, Slater and Arquette bring nothing to the table but everyone else is great.

So I saw The Gambler.

It was a pretty mediocre film. There were so many things wrong with the film and so many lackluster technical decisions that I was miffed as ****. I left thinking it was a 5 out of 10 but now I say it's a a solid 4 out of 10. Man, even the trailer is pretty bad.

That's too bad.
I kinda wanted to see it

I'm not sure if this is the proper thread but it seemed fitting enough. A couple of women I work with had recommended The Missing so I gave it a shot the other night and was literally hooked within a minute. I HIGHLY recommend this. It's on Starz (on demand for me) and may be on Netflix now. I'm pretty sure season one is done and I watched the first three episodes so far and am beyond hooked. 96%/88% on Rotten Tomatoes fwiw.

The Maze Runner was surprisingly good. Low expectations sure helped but the acting didn't bother me at all except some for that girl and the story had some depth and character development. It was a bit expository but I don't mind it. I think it set up a good foundation for the sequels.

It was nice to take a break from all the Bergmans and Tarkovskys. 7/10.
