What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I watched a Turkish movie: "My Boss Wants Happy Ending" by Tolga Çevik (Yılmaz Erdoğan) and it was meh. Turkish friends, guys, do resist your wife's or girlfriend's wishes, and do not pay in theatre, because, you'll probably see the movie on TV in a couple of months.

In spite of being a die hard fantasy fiction fan and a dungeon master- storyteller, I do not try to evaluate the adaptation movies of fiction literature by the book, but the movie itself. Question is, did you enjoy the movie, or not? If you've enjoyed, then there's nothing to blabble about, don't you think?

I enjoyed it but I also enjoy talking about it abiut its good and bad sides.

We most probably will. Thanks for the warning. I don't like Tolga Çevik and Yılmaz Erdoğan though. So I won't watch it on TV neither.

So how is the wife and the kid?

Watched elysium.
Pretty good

To the degree that the book is a classic, well-known piece of literature and you are relying on the fans of the book being part of your movie audience, those fans have a reasonable complaint when the movie deviates from the book in important ways. The more popular the book, the more reason for complaint.

She's fine, and there's 6 months more he/she to born. We're excited, maybe next week we'll learn gender.

Reading a book is all about your imagination, watching a movie is sharing someone else's. Of course there would be differences.
Having said that, elf-dwarf love really killed me though. Just made the movie cheap.

Good point. I actually didn't want to watch the first movie just for the reason of the joy I received from the original book. It was too darn good of a tale to me. I got sucked into it. I'm not as much as deep in to the large scale of RPG like you, I'm a lazy *** whore about finding new stuff about it, reading, but this one got me into Tolkien's imagination land. Never got through the LOTR books, the language was too "ağdalı" to enjoy it, spare time to it, and most importantly after finishing the trio movies, knowing how it ends.

Silmarillion was the highlight of my life in respect to Tolkien experience, hell even fantasy experience though. I'm sure someone will try some day. But I hope if anyone does, it will be epic. It is one of those productions that will be a fail if not epic. And they should make like 7 or 8 movies if not TV series like GoT. To expensive for a TV series I guess.

I agree, there will be differences. That's why I mentioned "in important ways".

Watched 'Bad Lieutenant'

It's okay, nothing groundbreaking, but it's entertaining.

Not sure how I feel about seeing Harvey Keitel's penis.

"Frozen" and I cried. There, I said it. Awesome movie though. My 6 old is hooked. She wants to be Elza now. Damn you Disney! We just bought Cinderella outfit.

I only shed tears the next day when I saw how much money I was spending on new Frozen gear. I have every g'damn song memorized, btw.

Saw The Hobbit, Desolation of Smaug. Now it becomes apparent how they are stretching this to 3 movies:

Story story story orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight story story orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight story story story story orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight orc fight story story story story story story story stuff that never happened stuff that never happened story story orc fight orc fight orc fight stuff that never happened stuff that never happened orc fight orc fight orc fight story story end.

Still it was pretty entertaining. I would watch again. It is a little irritating how they are dragging it all out, but as ADD as that dragon is it is amazing he was capable of flying at all, let alone terrorizing an entire realm.

Spoiler alert?
I feel like i have seen the movie now

Over the weekend, I picked up Man of Steel and The Lone Ranger from Redbox. Both were OK, but nothing special. Of the two, Man of Steel was better.

Much appreciated review. Now if I could only wipe the book out of memory for a second time.
