What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I figured you would be a big Insurgent fan. Dat female teenage angst doe.

God no. Divergent looked ****ing awful (and I think Shailene Woodley was great in The Descendants and is hawt) and my friend's daughter saw it after reading the book and confirmed my suspicions so...yeah..no chance I watch that garbage...unless they throw in a Blue is the Warmest Color scene. Then all bets are off.

Ant-Man was some unabashed, great entertainment. New Mission Impossible was okay, probably not worth the movie ticket price and better suited waiting until it's on TV. Southpaw was not good.

Minions sucked as bad as anything I ever saw

So disappointed to hear this. I was hoping minions would be more Wolverine and less Penguins of Madagascar, figuratively speaking. But it is tough for the supporting cast to carry a show by themselves. The penguins and the minions are fantastic in small doses, but just don't have enough oomph to carry a full movie. Bummer.

Your M:I review should have been no different than your Ant-Man review.

It strikes me this is a ****ty time for movies right now.

Watched this movie not really expecting anything. Korean movies are often great, but I don't count on them for pure action films. Was blown away by how good an action movie The Man from Nowhere actually is. Best short description is that it's like a Korean version of Taken. It's like they took everything that was cool about American action movies and jettisoned all the stuff that sucked.

Just thought I'd quickly note that I first watched this movie four months ago on the night before Netflix took it down. Now it's apparently back up:

Check it out if you haven't seen it. One of the best action movies I'd seen in a while. Well worth your time.

Watched Mission Impossible Rogue Nation last night...

Pretty disappointing really... all the actions are starting to get too repetitive? Would have like a bit more clever twists and turns like the very first one but there wasn't. Pretty much a stock standard action film but I had expected a bit more from the M:I franchise.

I agree. Check out Ant-Man. Awesome movie-going experience.

I'm going to see The Gift tomorrow.

Still want to see trainwreck too

Watched Birdman in hbo.

It was alright. I don't think I really "got" it.

Some of it went over my head. (I didn't watch from the beginning fwiw)

Wow. Couldn't disagree more, tbh. I just saw it. Was pretty ****ing bawse. I loved it.

Yeah the action is great, no doubting that. What generally sets Mission Impossible apart from say 007 IMO is the deception (i.e., the masks) and the plot's twists and turns ... I just don't think there was enough of that here.

Also that scene at the opera didn't really do it for me.. nice music and pretty unique but just wasn't interesting enough.

It's in the "Good but not Great" basket for me unfortunately.

Hmm, I think the ending was as perfect as it gets as far as deception goes (when they are talking to the prime minister).

Also the very end of the movie was as good as it gets (when he gets trapped). Some really good high points in the move (the water scene).

Overall great movie, would definitely recommend it. Doesn't hurt that Tom Cruise is the main actor and Rebecca Ferguson who is a total babe is a major character.
